How does that not add up to prison? I assume he's not dad to the eldest & maybe it was just teen boyfriend/girlfriend pregnancy. I cannot believe that's actually a comforting thought in my mind.

True, we're assuming that he's the bio-daddy for all four kids.

I wonder how much backlash TLC will get?

I think that only happens when the girl's parents pursue it. I had a 14 year old student who had a baby with her 20 year old boyfriend. So they were 13 and 19 when that baby was conceived, and they did not go after the dad.

I know for a fact that is not always the case. Breaks my heart when you have 15 y.o. w/ 16 y.o. boyfriend & they prosecute. Further destruction of young lives for no reason IMO.

I do have a confession to make. After thinking about this today I decided to let TLC know exactly what I think about and exactly the learning lesson I came away with from their new show. I'm sure they could care less, but this garbage really isn't sitting well with me and seems incredibly destructive to the kids and I decided I'd let the network know what I think of their programming decisions and hopefully shame them a bit for the way they're choosing to make a living as professionals in the field of television broadcasting. I guess it's a step up from purse snatching or something like that, but when you've got to set the bar that low, maybe you need to reevaluate your career goals.

TLC actually stands for The Learning Channel.

I'm learning how to never raise my child, and learning to not let my life turn into a train wreck (and if it does to sell my story to TLC!)

My DD and I watched it last night. We laughed through the entire thing. They dont seem to be bad people, maybe just different. At least they were clean and their house wasnt a dump. They seemed to be a family that cared for each other and had fun as a family, redneck style

We said the same thing this may not be the way we live our life or raise our two children but they seem like decent people who really care about the welfare of their children. I didn’t think I would care for the mom but you I think she has a great personality and is really likable and hilarious .

Seriously though this thread is just sad. Some of things that so called adults have spouted off about a 6 year old is just awful.. We wonder why bullying is such a problem in schools but here we have a thread full of mean spirited adults who can with a good conscious refer to a six year as fat and not cute.
