"Here comes Honey Boo Boo"?

Well, I don't know about that... watching a couple of these shows sure has been an "eye-opener" for me! :lmao: Who knew that pixie sticks were considered "pageant crack?" :confused3

:lmao::lmao: you got me there!

Oh goody! Here's another new TV show for me to not watch. :rolleyes1

C'mon TLC. Let's get back to some better quality programming!

It's filmed in Statesboro? Yikes! I won't be able to go there without thinking of this child and her family. Sorry Statesboro. You deserve something much better than this.

I know... it is sad that Statesboro may not be known for the awesome college or the great football team or even Erk, but by Honey Boo Boo. :scared1: I do love the 'Boro though.

Cute or funny wouldn't be either of the words I'd use to describe her.

All I have to say is YIKES!!!:scared1::scared1::scared1:

But I have to agree with the PP - these people are laughing all the way to the bank.:lmao:

first, i don't think this show will portray these people in a positive way. they certainly didn't when they were on T&T. however, i don't think people care when someone throws money at them.

i'd say we'll be laughing AT them, but we're probably just laughing NEAR them.

they've got to be in on the joke. if not, that's really sad.

Her mother is strangely reminiscent of Jabba the Hut......

Not to be mean but ...............yup yup yup. I also don't get all those saying that obnoxious little girl is cute? :confused3

She's anything but cute.
Really sad how The Learning Channel has become this crap.

Everything I've heard before says that the family is from McIntyre, GA. That's where my mom grew up and they show a scene from where the family lives and my mom recognized it right away. I haven't heard anything about Statesboro until this thread.

My daughters thoughtfully made sure I saw this hot mess of a show last night since I had asked about Honey Boo Boo and they were shocked I hadn't at least seen the commercial.

I hope the $ will be used to educate and get these kids some other role models and influences in their lives. Mom is 32, oldest (pregnant) DD is 17. Papa Bear is 40 -- I think the mom called him her baby daddy. If he is baby daddy to the 17 year old, do the math.

This show has achieved the impossible. Looks like the other reality shows just moved up a notch on the klassy scale.

I'm sorry that kid is not cute she's downright homely & her family appears to be trash. I'm boycotting TLC.

Show about a cute fat kid and her fat family. She's got a few more months before the cute wears off, and she's just a fat kid.

This show will definitely need subtitles as the little girl is not very understandable....and she's 6, so going into 2nd grade? She should speak more clearly than that.

She may be cute/funny now but she won't be cute when she's still behaving just like this in 10 years on her very own 16 and pregnant episode. It's actually very sad.

She should be having speech therapy now. her sister is in her own "16 and pregnant" episode right there on the show.

I didn't watch the show, but for those of you who are interested, there is a great site that does a rather humorous recap of various reality shows. Honey Boo Boo was no exception: http://www.imbringingbloggingback.com/

And can we discuss how terrible it is to have a daughter with the nickname "Chubs"?

Eww eww eww...so the mom was 15 when she had her first kid...with a 23 year old man?

I think it's safe to say that we won't watch the series, but we watched the opening two episodes last night... My family and I agreed it was probably the most eye-popping, speechless thing we've seen. Probably the most head-shaking moment was the attempt at etiquette lessons by the hired instructor. I'd like to think that the two kids were just acting for the cameras, but WOW.....

As for laughing all the way to the bank, don't be so sure... TLC might have just offered them a life-time supply of paper towels and/or powered doughnuts.

Those ages were at BIRTH, at conception it may have been 14 and 22!

My DD and I watched it last night. :rotfl: We laughed through the entire thing. They dont seem to be bad people, maybe just different. At least they were clean and their house wasnt a dump. They seemed to be a family that cared for each other and had fun as a family, redneck style :lmao:

The need for subtitles for the entire show cracked me up! :lmao:

How does that not add up to prison? I assume he's not dad to the eldest & maybe it was just teen boyfriend/girlfriend pregnancy. I cannot believe that's actually a comforting thought in my mind.

I wonder how much backlash TLC will get?
