Here Comes Day Guest MagicBands

Holy moly! We are going into the parks on April 2. Staying off-site and going to DTD April 1 to exchange old tickets for RFID ones. I was stressing about those dang kiosk lines. Even if we only get 1-day advance, maybe we'll get to make those FP+ ressies after all w/o using kiosks!

Not sure how to feel but :wave2:

So, we'll be there May 4-11. We don't have tickets yet, so are we restricted to buying them through Disney or can the tickets we get through AAA be linked as well?

Wow! I didn't see this coming. Wait. Strike that. Yes, I did. ;)

Soon, we'll finally get to see how things turn out with this final "missing link" in place so that ALL guests can pre-book.

Finally.

Let the games begin

I am staying off site, and have linked my tickets from UT on MDE app. My 30 day mark comes in nine days. So, do I just start checking the app at that time to schedule my FP+? Also, does anyone have any information about how to purchase Magic Bands? I understand that our tickets can be used instead, but am interested in how much the bands cost and how to get them. Sorry if this has already been asked… Thank you so much everyone for your help!

Exactly. I honestly feel bad for those whose only hope was that prebook would be an onsite perk. Not that bad, mind you, but bad just the same.

Just imagine when they announce additional day-of FPs once you exhaust your 3...cats and dogs, living in sin!

yay.... doesn't say how much the bands are though?? I guess I don't need my one night anymore ;)

The one still unknown factor is whether there is some FP+ availability held back until the day of to prevent popular rides from "selling out" at the 60 or 30 day mark. I asked this months ago and someone assured me that their uncle's hairdresser who once dated a WDW bus driver verified that FP+s were being held back. But I maintain this will cause some dissatisfaction because those who are online 60 days out may not get their choices and will be unhappy to find out that someone else can snag it on the morning of.

~Disney is so smart. Ugh..... I really want to stay offsite at the Four Seasons. :( I've got to think about this.

~Anyway, like I said from day one -- FP+ will be available to everyone. But, I don't like that onsite has an advantage. But, how else could Disney compete with the Four Seasons?!? I don't know what to do now?

Oh what a tangled web they wove when they decided on fast pass plus instead of digitizing legacy fast pass! Hope the offsiters having access doesn't ruin it for those who insisted it should only be an on site perk!

Don't like the idea! There should be perks for staying on property. What's the point in paying the extra money if everyone gets the same perks. Makes staying on property not worth it!

Human nature will render the need to "hold back" FPs moot. A large number who can book 60 days out will wait until 31 days, check the boards, see that the park is still standing, make a point to log on in 2 weeks to firm things up, get busy and end up paying airline extra for wifi so they can book midair.

I've maintained all along that once you get to the park, you will have a opportunity to get additional FPs. Maybe after you use your 3, maybe at some predetermined time of day, maybe by MDE because you're standing near a ride where capacity is available and you look hungry (algorithmically speaking, of course)
