Here at SSR now - ahhhh, home!!!

Awesome view and report!!

I love sitting on the balconies at SSR. I :lovestruc

The views are just awesome and you can always hear the fountain waters.

Thank you for sharing the FG photos. I love that Lady and the Tramp topiary.

And the Garden Gnome is cute too!

Great report and thank you for sharing and hope you get better soon:wizard:

Sounds like your SSR vacation is off to a great start! We had a fourth floor studio overlooking the fountain a couple of weeks ago, loved it. It is fun to watch the swan, the otters and the turtles.

Have a great time!!

Otters, in the fountain??????

Hi! Sounds like you're having a fabulous time at SSR!!! :goodvibes
Thanks for the report and pictures. The F&G festival is soooo pretty!!

Oh, and I hope you feel better!

Hello all - here's me today!

SSR.jpg

My favourite guy at AK! Got to ride EE, see Eeyore and head back to my studio in time for lunch. Beautiful 80 degree breezy day - perfect last full day here. DH and I are going mini putting at Fantasia Gardens this afternoon, and then we'll try and make our ADR for Cape May Buffet at Beach Club. I still have a cough, but am making the best of my last (boo hoo!) full day here at SSR.

Forgot to post these yesterday - sand sculpture at Epcot for new Nature movie coming out next month. Amazing!

Thanks for posting your pictures. I love the sand sculptures and my little guy is looking forward to seeing that movie too.

I am so sorry you were sick for your stay. That is no fun. :sad1:

Enjoyed your pictures and report. I love the view from your balcony! We own at SSR and haven't stayed there yet. That picture makes me ready to book. Sorry you were sick but sounds like SSR and WDW were the perfect cure! Thanks for the flower festival pics. I'm missing it this year:( so I'm enjoying all the pictures. :flower3:

Great updates Tracy! I love SSR--it's so peaceful and exactly the reason why we decided to purchase there. Hearing you mention the swan brought back great memories of strolling my DD (1 1/2) around the lake watching the swans pick their heads up out of the water.

Happy to hear you are feeling better. Sounds like a relaxing stay at SSR is what you needed.

I'd love to know if you enjoyed your dinner at Cape May. I go back and forth on whether or not to make a ressie there. I'd love to hear your experience.

So glad you're feeling better! Love the photos, too! I feel so great reading your wonderful report- thanks so much for sharing!:thumbsup2

Happy that you're better!! SSR is so beautiful! My grandson and I spent a lot of time on the balcony and loved it!! Fantastic pictures, thanks for sharing!! Drive home safely and stay well!!:goodvibes

Glad to hear you are feeling better. SSR can do wonders !

I have a question....when your DH goes to the fitness center does he use the spa change room facilities? We always used them but this trip (just came home on the 24th) the spa staff indicated that we could use the fitness center but not the locker rooms. To use the locker rooms they wanted $12.50 a day. That irked me so much we didn't go back all week.

Previously they used to let us use the facilities free of charge. Then it changed to only if you had a spa treatment or used the fitness center. Now apparently only if having a treatment.

I guess I understand limiting the use but really thought the $12.50 a day was a steep charge.

Hi again all - well, left SSR this morning:sad2: - am almost halfway home, staying at a Hampton Inn in Concord, NC.
Our last day yesterday was beautiful - we went mini putting all afternoon at Fantasia Gardens, Fairway Course (DH won by 12 strokes!). Then at 4pm we drove around the corner to the Beach Club to hang out for our Cape May reservation. We relaxed in the Drawing Room at the DVC section - had a couch each all to ourselves to read our books. Checked in at 5:30 for our 5:50 and were seated 10 minutes early. It was busy, but not completely packed. All the food was yummy - they have lots of salad selection, and I really like the chicken and mashed potatoes (boring I know). They have tons of seafood, but I'm not big on any of that. My favourite is the desserts - the little oreo cheesecakes are worth the price of the meal hands down - DH agreed. We enjoyed a nice, hot pot of earl gray tea with our desserts, and just sat and relaxed while we digested before wandering out to the Boardwalk for an evening stroll. Watched the sunset from the beach - perfect end to our last day.
Tomorrow we're touring Hendrick Motorsports and JR Motorsports, then heading home - probably won't crawl into my own bed until 1am Sunday. Plus it's raining and only 62 degrees here - I miss my sunny and warm WDW already! Good thing we'll be at OKW for two weeks in August.:yay:

Oh, and about the fitness center - yes, DH just used it and was told he couldn't access the change room without using the spa - he was not aware of the fee, so that is really not cool! He usually uses it when we stay at OKW and gets showered and changed - didn't have to this trip since our room was so close, but he would want to in August. Definitely not paying the fee - they have changerooms and showers at other resorts and don't charge, so this is worth a complaint or two!

Night all!

Thanks for the confirmation about the spa. It's too bad as we really enjoyed using the change facilities, sauna and steam room. I have already written to the spa and member services. They certainly have the right to charge but maybe some sort of perk can be arranged that is more cost effective.

Glad you had such a wonderful time. We really love SSR too. Were in a GV for part of March break and really enjoyed that.

You may be home already but just so you know, it is warming up here in Niagara. Not as nice a Florida but my crocuses have made an appearance so spring is on the way!

Hi all - just wanted to let everyone know we made it home safely after driving for two miserable days (I hate leaving WDW, hate it even more when we have to drive!). I'm still coughing - have dr. appt. for Thursday. Now that I'm not at SSR again, back to feeling crappy - I swear my prescription should read "more time at Disney until health improves" - I'd stay forever!:goodvibes
We were up and gone Friday by 10 am, but there was an accident on the I-4 (oh how I wanted to be flying over it in the planes I saw!), and we were stuck for an extra hour. Didn't get to Concord, NC until 7:30 pm, tired and hungry. Up by 9am, got our free breakfast downstairs, then visited Hendricks Motorsports and JR Motorsports before leaving Mooresville, NC at 1:30 pm. Arrived home at 1:30 am and collapsed in bed for 9 hours!
Laundry's caught up, house is clean, groceries are bought, and here I am back on the DIS Boards living through other people's reports!:surfweb:
Thanks again for all your well wishes - glad you enjoyed the photos.

Absolutely great trip report! I felt like I was there beside you every step of the way. Good luck at the doctor's.
