Here at OKW!

First stay at OKW. Arrived yesterday and they had us on south point road but I got them to move us to miller’s road building 18 so nice quick walk to main pool and near a bus station! Lovely patio with view! Walls seem a bit thin because neighbor’s alarm woke me up at 6 or maybe they had it blasted! Very excited to explore the grounds today. lOVe the main pool- nice and spread out with lots of seating and the slide is awesome.
Room did not have paper plates or bowls? Love having two beds and room is spacious! Feel free to ask questions. I am off to look up when the store opens because our milk froze in the fridge!

Enjoy! We find the walls thin at basically every single Disney resort hotel, with the exception of the originals (Contemporary Resort and Polynesian) and Bay Lake Tower is also good. Everything else, we always get the neighbors from heck and hear everything through the walls as if there were in the same room. We seem to be a magnet for noisy neighbors so the paper walls don't help.

Our last trip and this coming trip will be at BCV but looking forward to our stay in early 2024 in OKW. We alternate with our home resorts. We always miss the other resort we are not staying at. This makes it very hard for us to try a new resort (we have tried a few other DVC resorts but not in a while/have some more to go).

If you have a connecting door placing a rolled up towel at the bottom of the door may help to quiet the noise a little. We love it there at okw

I just walked to turtle pond for their hot tub because the one near me was getting fixed and main pool doesn’t open until 10. I have been very pleased with how nice cast members are

They need to have a designated closed area IMHO covered and all and larger... And perhaps maybe another TS, but the latter isn't as important.... BTW the Boat ride truly is relaxing too...

Enjoy your stay.... It is an awesome resort. We only were there briefly but it didn't take me n my DS long to love this place. MY DW & DD not so much. . The quiet peaceful vibe you get there is unmatched....Maybe in some ways like AKV/L but. My only negative, or perhaps 2, are The QS counter. The need to have a designated closed area IMHO covered and all and larger... And perhaps maybe another TS, but the latter isn't as important.... BTW the Boat ride truly is relaxing too...

DD misses paddock slide which I think is more nostalgia because this slide is awesome. But had we stayed at SSR now with the main pool closed I figured paddock pool would be packed and it is a small pool. This is our home resort.... Took a while to finally stay there as you can see in my Siggie, but once we did we grew to love it. Grandstand was our fav. spot. We also got Paddock once, but the all time best was right in springs in that 1st bldg on the left facing the pond. we had 3 separate studios on the 2nd floor. In laws had the very 1st room by the closest stairway to the carriage house. my sis in law had a room 3 doors down, and ours was 5 doors down. Couldn't ask for anything better to be honest. Although the paddock trip was a nice change of pace. We don't usually frequent that pool, but that trip we did a few times.

I think that OKW was designed to be a traditional timeshare with guests primarily cooking in their villas. I think the QS was designed for use by guests at the pool. I don’t know whether Olivia’s was there from the beginning or not. But I do remember that when SSR opened with only a small QS there were many complaints that they needed a TS restaurant. DVD had not realized that so many DVC guests didn’t like to cook!
