I would like to get a henna tattoo at the Morocco showcase at Epcot, does anyone know the price and any other specifics?
Thanks in advance!

What is this all about? I would like to hear more about it!

My DD had one two years ago. You pick your design from a book. The prices vary acccording to the style. After the henna is on you have to come back (in two hours, I think) to get the henna off. DD's was quite faded in places and the lady touched it up. Oh, by the, way her tattoo was one of the less elaborate and it was $25.

I didn't realize that they DID henna's at Epcot! I want one too! (oh my.....can you hear me? I'm whining now..... ) But I really, really, REALLY want one!

Thanks for the info! This is something I will definitely look into when I'm there.

how long DO they last?
inquiring minds want to know!
:) :)

what kind of designs, sizes, prices?

details--DETAILS :)

My DD (15) has had two of them.

Hers were each $20-25 and covered her index finger and a large part of the back of her hand. Think flower with vines and berries coming off. They have simpler and more elaborate designs with different prices. They also have designs for the foot/ankle that coordinate with the hand.

The henna is a paste in a squeeze bottle with a tiny opening (similar to t-shirt paints I used back in the day). The artist is very fast. She tells you how to care for it and gives you a little sheet with tips as well. The paste will dry on, you come back later for this mixture of lemon juice and sugar that is supposed to help it somehow (can't remember right this second). You are supposed to keep it dry (from rain, showers, swimming) as long as possible... preferably overnight. The longer you leave the paste on, the darker your tatoo will be and the longer it will last. Although, leaving it on is easier said than done. After it dries it tends to crack and break off when you move your hand. Kaytlin worked harder at keeping the first one on and it was darker and lasted longer... say 2-3 weeks instead of 1 week. The henna also stained different parts of her hand differently, I think due to the different textures of her skin... the finger seems to be darker than the back of the hand.

She got a lot of comments/compliments on them and wants to get them again. Who knows... maybe I'll get one, too.:smooth:

DD's cost $25 and she got it on the back of her hand. We bought a tube of petroleum jelly in the gift shop and used that to protect it from water. Hers lasted about a month.

Thank you, thank you, thank you to the OP!!! I have been itching for one of these for a loooong time and did not know I could get one in Morocco until now!! Yahoo!

OK -- stupid Henna Tattoo questions here ... hoping someone can answer:

1. Will your skin get tanned under the henna tattoo? Or, once the henna fades, will you be left w/a white pattern where it once was (whereas the rest of your skin is tanned?).

2. Will they tattoo a shoulder or ankle or other body part, rather than your hand?!

TIA for any info!

DD did not have a white spot. They have ALOT of different patterns that can go places besides your hands.:D

Thanks for the additional info.! I think I would like mine on my shoulder or ankle. I'm glad to hear that they put them in other places!

Helping the water problem AND the drying out flaking off problem! They should mention that in their instructions!... or do they?

Anyway, thanks LvsTnk!

You may want to schedule this later in your trip. The henna lady told my 13 yr old DD it was better not to swim for a few days after the application in order for the henna to last longer.

DD got her $25 Henna on her forearm. It was quite light to start out with but really faded quickly in Chlorine. It would be a good idea to go at the end of your trip and to avoid pool water.

Excellent suggestion on waiting until the end of your trip to get the henna tattoo ... esp. w/the chance of chlorine fading it!!!
