We are contemplating booking the 12/11/04 Eastern Cruise. I really would love to see the ship all decked out for Christmas!! However, I still would love to enjoy the warm weather and water. Does anyone know the temperature's air/beach about that time of year. I know we went once in January of 2003 and it was very cold. Castaway Cay was cold and windy, not many people in the water. I don't want a replay of that, but I'd love to see the "Magic Christmas". ughhhh I hate not knowing what to do!!!!!!!!

Hi...we went at the same time last year and are cruising on 12-4 this year.

The ship is breathtakingingly beautifully decorated(did I just make up some new words..lol)...the weather was absolutely beautiful. St. Maarten and St. Thomas were HOT weather wise.
People were at the beach in SM.

On CC day I was not feeling well and did not get off the ship. DD and DH got off the ship and it was very cold and windy. I think there was a cold front coming through. So they came back to the ship and spent the rest of the day in the pools... But we live at the beach...so CC doesn't matter as much to us as it does to other people. DD learned how to snorkle a couple of cruises back and that's the only reason they got off in the first place.

We are going again this year because it was so great last year and as I said..the decorations were out of this world.

We were on the 12-27-03 Eastern. It was great. We had HOT gail force winds at sea, we got a kick out of walking in front of the basketball courts on the front of the ship in tee shirts and shorts and having those winds hit you.
On CC, the air temperature was about 80, and water temperature was about 85, and we got a little rain. But we were snorkeling so we were wet already. It was sunny before lunch, but a lot of folks headed back to the ship in the afternoon when it started sprinkling. After snorkeling, we rented bikes in the warm rain, it was outstanding.

We are cruising on 12/11!!

We cruised on the 12/13 Eastern last year and overall we had warm weather. Weather was plenty warm in St. Maarten and St. Thomas for swimming, snorkeling and enjoying the beach. Our only cold day was on Friday at CC. A cold front was moving through and it was quite windy. Temps were in the mid 70's so it wasn't really cold, but with the wind, swimming was a bit chilly. We ended up renting bikes and just enjoying the beach.

Definitely don't let weather stop you from cruising in December. We enjoyed it so much, we booked again for this year. I think the cold front pushing all the way out to the Bahamas was kind of rare.

We were on the 12/8 Eastern last year.

Weather was very warm for the more southern ports (St. Thomas, St Marten) so beach excursions there were great.

CC was a bit chilly. We still went in the water but it was cool. The adult beach was empty as the winds were coming in from that direction and it was just too cold. Family beach was crowded, warm enough to lay out in the sun and spend a bit of time in the water.

Okay I'm convinced, warm weather 2 out of 3 places is good enough for me. I'm excited to see the ship in all her Christmas Glory. We've been to Disneyland when it was decorated for Christmas, so I can image what the Magic will look like. The only thing is, when I get home to put my own decorations up I'll probably want mickey wreaths, mickey ornaments, lights everywhere. My husband will think I'm insane!!!!! Oh well, that's why he loves me.
