Helping your children "relax" on a long flight aka drugging them.

Bag of 'goodies' is a great idea. Crayon's etc. I also included books, include new ones and old favourites-I think I read 'Spot' 100 times. We also sang nursey rhymes (softly!)Travelling when their small is more tireing on you be prepared. I used to get up and walk about with them for a bit too.

Take something to suck for landing-lollys are a good idea, mine used to see them as a treat as I wouldn't normally allow them (running around with a stick in their mouths always worried me).

I'd never allow my kids to kick the seat in front or bang the table-I know how annoying it is-appart from this most people understand it's a long time for children and tolerate the occasional 'outburst' that they all have.

Keep calm and have a great holiday

But this year, we have bought one of those pet carriers that will go in with the luggage in the hold for Josh. It has got a water bottle and a dish for some smarties so he should be ok.

Steve

Get him one of those hamster wheels as well. It prevents DVTs on planes.

Another mum on the plane gave me this hint...

Karvol, in a plastic cup on cotton wool few drops of boiling water, (ask helpful staff aparently its quite common) and it opens up airways and ears etc and the ears dont pop as much when taking off and landing, helps my son loads and gives him something to concerntrate on with breathing it in etc x#
works a treat!

When I online check in (that's another worry altogether!) and I'm given a choice of seats, I guess it's a bonus to have nobody in front of you (but those bulkhead seats are reserved for skycots, right?) if that's not possible does anybody have any tips on choosing seating position (no jokes mile high jokes pls) on aircraft?
I'm on the VS027 on 28 april don't go giving me any dud info if you're in competition with me for the good seats!!!! :lmao:

Have a look on v-flyer

http://www.v-flyer.com/seats.asp

Most seats are rated by other flyers.

I wont be drugging the girls lol, but I know someone who does her two year old, but isnt it dangerous>?

I just get them enough activities to do on the plane and hopefully get them to sleep a little (or alot)lol
