Hi Everyone, I am in charge of our GAD opportunity thru our charity. I am having lots of trouble with people not reading and following the directions on how the sign up works. I am concerned that people who do not follow thru with all the sign up are going to show up and expect a ticket. I am going to feel terrible if this happens. I can tell by the threads here, that there has been some confusion.

Once you hear from the organization, you MUST go back to the original email sent to you and click on the link it gives to actually be put on the organization's and Disney's verification list. If you do not do this, you are not in the system and the organization will not be able to verify you thru their system. I have had to contact many people and remind them to do this, and I am sure not many organizations do this. Everyone I contacted said they did not realize they had to do this.
Please read all emails you receive carefully and follow the instructions given. I am not being a stickler, I just would hate for anyone to miss out on their ticket because they didn't follow the directions.
The charities must also follow Disney's directions. I get the feeling people are thinking the charity can fudge the date they volunteered, but they cant. We need to enter all our data also and it has to be accurate or we may be at risk of being taken off the list.
Finally, if you have signed up and you cannot make it, please let the organization know. I have a huge waiting list and would hate for someone who wants to help out to miss out because someone just didn't show up.
Hope this helps everyone!!! I want this to be a great, happy experience for people, not a dissappointing one:)

NONE of my e-mails have said that I have to click a link, etc....It said only click if you can NOT attend...Here it is from my e-mail....

What happens next?

We have reserved a space for you to volunteer for this opportunity. Please be on time and wear clothing appropriate for the volunteer activity.

After you have completed your volunteer assignment, Hands On Sacramento will notify Disney Parks, who will contact you with instructions for printing your voucher for your free Disney day at Disneyland® Resort or Walt Disney World® Resort.

If you are not able to fulfill your commitment to volunteer, please let us know immediately. Click on the following link or paste it into your Web browser to be taken to the Volunteer Opportunity Portal to remove yourself from the opportunity.

I believe she is referring to the very first email you got after you submitted your inquiry.

There are events that you sign up for and ones that you inquire about. My first email was like yours because the event I signed up for already had all the information needed (date, time, number of volunteers needed, etc) and it took me through the whole process. When my husband found something he wanted to do, it only gave him the option to show interest. He did and was sent the email/link that the original poster posted.

Got it! ...so this is not a reason to not have been verified yet! I am just worried because it was a total mess that day! I guess I will wait the one more week before I panic! :)

Sorry for the confusion. I was referring to events that you had to contact the organization before you sign up. Thanks for clearing that up Hello Kitty.
Peace.love.mickey, sorry for the panic_you should be fine with yours:goodvibes

I don't know what you (Peace.love.mickey) signed up for, but when you got there did you do everything necessary besides volunteering? Our event was chaotic as well and I had to do everything twice because my information was at one check in but not another. So, I had to sign in/check out at two different locations, sign waivers at both and turn in an evaluation. If I missed any of those steps I wouldn't have received my tickets. I was very proactive in finding out what I needed to do and I'm glad that I was because nothing would have went through otherwise.

You're welcome sandyneck. :)

It was POURING and we were outside! She had us sign-in on a sheet (I think it was also a waiver.) When we were finished, she checked us off (she had gone and typed up the list of people who had signed in becasue she said the original one was too wet) . She originally had said we would do an eval, but did not have us do it because of the weather! I asked TWICE if that was all, she said, yup that is all have fun at Disney. I just need to be patient! (granted I do not know anyone that has taken over a week to get their voucher :confused3)...

We completed ours on the 16th and received the vouchers on the 21st. And not to scare you, but we were told that if we (everybody in my party including minors) did not complete the evaluations then we would not get the vouchers. Every organization is different though. Maybe give it a few more days then contact the coordinator. I'm sure everything is fine. :)

I e-mailed the lady in charge just to see...maybe it is a mix-up!

ETA: She said that we were verified through Disney, so we shall see!
