Hi Shirley ~ Can you call on all your friends down in Key West and request some warm sunny weather in ~ 5 weeks :cool1:. You were EXTREMELY helpful ~ 5 years ago when my DH, DS and myself spent a week in Key West and I had some Key West questions. DH and I are headed back for an 11 day stay in early March. Just wanted to say "hi" to my favorite conch .

WHOOPEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!! Went by to check on how the work was going on with the new bridge and there were trucks ON THE BRIDGE so looks like the bridge will be ready to be open on the 16th as predicted so those that will be coming here next week will be back normal as far as traveling the straight shot from the airport here and visa versa.
Will keep you posted
HUGSSSSSSSSSSSSS TO EVERYONE FOR A VERY HAPPY VALENTINES DAY TOMORROW:)

That is terrific news Shirley!!! We are flying down Saturday evening for the Feb 20 4-nighter, and we were hoping to get into town early enough to make a Ron Jons run before bed. We couldn't figure out how much longer the drive would take with the bridge out, but now we know it's going to be working normal, which is one less thing to worry about! Thanks for sharing!:cool1:

Shirley, I saw on the Channel 2 news this morning that they reported the bridge was open. They may have gotten that wrong and meant to say it would be open in a couple of days. They had 25 days to get it fixed and did it in 22 days. Good news for all!!!

Hello Charlie,
Yep the bridge is open and it was done in 22 days - the confusion it caused for so many was undescribable especially for those working at the Cape and school kids - I just feel a deep sorrow for the families of the 2 lives that were lost that should not have happened.
Anyhow it is all now back to normal :)

Wow! Wonderful help!

You are most welcomed - I know it looks like it can be very overwhelming, but if it is studied over periods of time, a lot can be gained from it.
GOOD LUCK AND ENJOY and if we can be of further help, just drop me a note

OK - City of Cocoa Beach is VERY serious if you run red lights regardless of the situation
Already, this year, over 1000 tickets for $158.00 has been issued for running these lights especially the one located next to Holiday Inn Express and Publix - the city means business so please save yourself some headaches and watch those traffic lights ok?
Just trying to save you some monies and problems

IF you will be in town from April 1st through the 3rd and looking for something to do especially if there are kids, Our Savior's Church on A1A is having a Spring Fling on their grounds which will offer fun rides, food, entertainment and a lot more -
Keep checking out their website for more information
ENJOY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

HERE IS NEW INFORMATION FOR YOU ON A NEW "PARK & CRUISE" OFFER.

Hello Shirley
I want to update you on what the Radisson Resort at the Port is doing effective May 1 2011. Because of new charges (from the Canaveral Port Authority) for commercial passenger vehicles entering the cruise terminals and continued raising operating costs, Radisson will no longer be offering free shuttle and parking to all guests. Free shuttle and parking will still be available as part of our Park and Cruise packages. For guests that choose another rate, there will an option (at a charge) to add parking and shuttle once they arrive at the Resort. Any reservations that have been made prior to May 1, 2011 will be given free parking and shuttle to the Port per our current marketing message – regardless of arrival date.

Also

Beginning Monday April 18, 2011 the Radisson will be selling non hotel guest parking and shuttle to the Port. The cost of this will be $6.99 Daily. We believe this will be a great alternative to the Ports charge of $15 per day, for the folks that live locally and are cruising.
