Helpful Information For You Updated 03/30/2012

OK sit up and listen to me - traffic accidents have really increased AND most of all, tickets are being passed out like sugar cookies - when you are here, keep your speed down and your eyes peeled on the road - don't mess your holidays or even your life by not being more careful - Norm and I saw so many cars pulled over yesterday and yes even bumper benders, BUT we also see a lot of foolish driving - you are not going to get anywhere faster -
Just a thought to share with you - don't want to see anyone hurt

You are right, Shirley! We just drove back from Florida and the crazy driving was not to be believed - and NOT just in Cocoa Beach either! Why do some people think the rules of safe driving don't apply to them? We thanked god to be home safe and sound, I can tell you! (And, thanks to your good advice, we didn't get a ticket in Cocoa, either, although we saw plenty cops. lol)

So glad you posted this Shirley! We live in Melbourne and many people I know have been ticketed this week on 95 and 528 for speeding (ticketed for less than 5 mph over posted speed limit which is unusual on 95). The police are everywhere and there have been accidents and back ups.

Don't know if it's the time of the year, the crazy weather or the people.

You are such a good source of info and so glad for all your postings! We haven't done baskets before since we live so close, but planning on it for the next time as a treat.

Sure do appreciate you!

THANKS Jeanne,
There has just been so many many near misses including Norm having that little girl run out in front of his truck - she could have been seriously hurt or killed and we would have had to live with it. A1A is like a super highway and so is Hwy 528, the speed limits are just not heeded and it nothing to seeing 5, 6 or more cars, trucks pulled to the side.
I guess I had have a few too many emergency calls concerning accidents and not that I mind, but I know I it sure hurts when I have a call that someone was hurt. NO I DO NOT MIND GOING TO THE HOSPITAL AT ALL, its just seeing the distress on the families.

Thanks for all of the info you post here! It has been very helpful. I was wondering if there was any affordable / family friendly / or fast food dining around the Radisson area? Thanks!!

Shirley, my parents spent one night at the Radisson last week and were not happy with their stay. It was NOISY, the a/c was loud and their car was keyed while in the parking lot. Is there an email or telephone number for the general manager? Or do you have any other recommendations of how they can have their complaint heard?

Thanks so much!

Waiting to hear from you

Shirley (or anybody who's stayed there):

We'll be staying at the Country Inn & Suites in two weeks and are thinking of just brining in our dinner (I'm voting for Publix fried chicken). Would we be be able to take our food to the outside area where they serve the breakfasts? Is that area 'open' to use? If not, I think there are some tables by the pool...at least it looks that way from the photo.

We're doing a girlfriends, spur of the moment, on the cheap trip and want to save every spare $ for drinks of the day! :rotfl:

AND...what time do you close up shop on Friday's? I'd love to come and get a HUG

Hello girlfriend,
I would feel so honored if you would stop by - you know I really do not believe the GM Bud would have any problems with you bringing your food, but here is his personal email and you can write and ask - he is good about answering his emails bud.burch@countryinns.com

Anyhow we are usually open until 5PM - it has been so slow lately, some days we have had to close up the shop very early - this economy sure hasn't helped mom and pop shops.

See ya soon

Hello Shirley,

First I want to THANK YOU for all you helpful tips on this thread. I have used the info on our cruise in Feb. 2008, our personal (no kid) trip in Feb 2009 just to Cocoa Beach, and now our cruise again in Feb 2010! I need to retire in Cocoa Beach! :hippie:

Anyway, I was wondering if the aquarium was open to the public or if you have to dine in the restaurant? We are coming Friday evening and will probably head to Ron Jon's and then get takeout for our motel. I was wondering if you could just "pop in" the motel or even if we could pay an admission fee? We are traveling w/the kids before our Disney Cruise and thought it would be something to look into?

Thank you for your time and talent! :thanks:

Shirley, I wanted to thank you here on this thread for helping my parents resolve their issue. You are such a blessing! And everyone here should be grateful for all that you do! :grouphug:

Hello Rae - are you speaking about the aquarium at 4 Points because if you are, there is no fees - also remember there is a dinosaur store here that adults and kids have really enjoyed =
Let me know if I am speaking about the right place

Thank you again for your time and sharing your info with us!

Hello Rae,
Glad to help and try to stop by - I have a fun place

Yep we have snow and ICE - it was so unusual cold yesterday, Norm and I were out doing deliveries, it started raining and I noticed all this "stuff" bounching off the windshield and truck - yep it was ice - Norm stopped the truck as we watched this "ice" bounching all over the place.

Check out the weather information on the front of this thread simply due to the fact, I reported we were going to be having some challenging weather and folks found it hard to believe so now the stores are out of coats, jackets, sweaters, caps, gloves etc and besides that who wears heavy jackets etc here in florida WE DO NOW :scared1:

Looking forward to when it gets warm again but doesn't look like for awhile.
Blessings to each and all and I will be off line for a few days - going to Mayo for some tests - now if you get into a problem, call the shop and speak to Melody for she will help in any way possible ok?
Hugssssssss
Shirley

Safe travels and I hope all is well with you and your trip to Mayo's.

I will be calling Melody tomorrow for our cruise baskets! I am so excited!!! I have been reading the previous thread posted w/pics and ideas, you are so talented and creative! I hope we will get time to "pop in" the shop.

01/17/2010 UPDATE

there have been a number of car breakins soooooooo my suggestion to you if you are going to leave valuable stuff in your cars, make sure they are at least hidden etc. Our hotels have had quite a run so thought I would give you food for thought --IF your car is keyless, please check the key hole before getting in and if it appears that it has been tampered with, go where ever you are and call the police - take notes for your own safety - I just came back trying to get one of the cruisers help and be there if only for support. The cruiser was Lisa Graves and her family - needless to say they were all upset so please just be aware ok - these devils that can do such stuff will get their dues, but not soon enough.
Always
