I sure hope the Radisson has stepped up their game from this spring.
I just booked the night before our November cruise with them.
I asked for the 'early" shuttle time for the Disney Magic, I'm in no mood to wait for hours like some did this past year.

Did you just book "early" or did you give them a time? If not a time, call back and request 10 am or 10:30 am. They will put you on that list, then go to lobby about 15-20 prior and sign in with the clip board person. In APril 2008 and July 2009 I had no issues.

Sounds like a great plan to me - walk off ship onto the car without too much hassle.

OK here is an update for you for the "just in case" need
The Omelet Station here in Cocoa Beach closed down as of 08/01/09 (another mom and pop shop shuts its doors) BUT the good news is that Boston Seafood that was located in Cape Canaveral in moving in there and sure am hoping that Jonathan and Brandon that owned The Omelet Station can stay with the new restaurant. Norm and I have tried their food and it really is pretty good.
Second - Publix here in Cocoa Beach has opened their new liquor store right next door to the grocery store - I haven't been in there to "check it out" but knowing Publix and how they operate, I am sure it is a nice place - I haven't done a price comparison with ABC Fine wine and liquor although I still prefer ABC, but as soon as I do, will let you know OK?

Listen I need to chat with each of you about something ok?
It appears as thought folks have been allowing their children or themselves to pick up small turtles that have hatched and played with them before setting them in the water.
First IF you happen upon a hatching, just watch it from away until it gets into the water and swims off. If these hatchings are handled, they get disoriented and more less lose their sense of direction and will not make it. There was a warning in the newspaper this morning and thought I would share it with you and besides that you don't want to spend a HUGE fine as your welcome present to Brevard County.
Anyhow just a thought I felt I needed to share

We didn't have a problem with them. I wouldn't leave any food in the car, of course, but we didn't have any problems. We were staying at the Raddison Resort. Hope that helps.

Boy do we have all kinds of "buggies" BUT if you don't leave any food in your car, they would not have any reason to try and get into the car - lived here all my life in Florida and not once have had a problem with any kind of buggies trying to turn my vehicle into a Buggy Restaurant - you will be safe honest ()

They have had a real issue with them at the port parking lot in the past. I'll still warn brother not to leave food wrappers or cola bottles in the car.

We're suddenly needing to watch our pennies and would like to find the best value for a room/cruise package at a local hotel. We don't care about the glitz or ocean view potential (just as long as it has some kind of a pool!).

Can anyone make any recommendations? We're less than 2 months out and I just realized that I didn't get this done yet! Yikes!

Wjh don't you drop Judy a note from the La Quinta - its nice and it is reasonable - also the most reasonable hotel here is Fawlty Towers

I'm also looking for an inexpensive hotel but I'd also like to get one that allows me to leave my vehicle there during the cruise (and hopefully has some type of security patrol or something). Do you know if these do that?

I was thinking about staying at the Radisson's Resort at the Port again as it was REALLY nice, but saving a bit of cash might tip the scales.

Wow. You really did a lot of work and a wonderful job. This is a great cheat sheet for anyone going on a cruise from Port Canaveral. I used to be one of those managers at the hotels near Port Canaveral. So thank you for those kind words. I spent a lot of time helping guests that were going on cruises. If anyone needs help in making any of their travel plans to Port Canaveral. I'll try to respond as quickly as possible.
