Helpful Information For You Updated 03/30/2012

The Inn at Cocoa Beach looks lovely. How far is it from the port? Any reviews?

The Hilton also looks good with a AAA rate. Plus we are Hilton Honors members and also may be able to get Delta points with them.

The Inn of Cocoa Beach is beautiful and right on the beach - Cocoa Beach and Cape Canaveral are small barrier islands so we really aren't too far from anything unless you are walking and its a hot day:cool1:
You are maybe about 2 miles North from the port.

The Hilton is also super nice and it also is on the beach and with it being Turtle nesting season, you can actually see the turtles come up and lay their eggs, but it is AGAINST THE LAW TO DISTURB THEM IN ANY WAY.
You will like both.

Thanks Linda - I sincerely appreciate your thoughts - Norm, myself and some super close classmates are going to hang out together - here we all have been out of school for more than 50 years plus and yet we all keep in touch with each other -

Anyhow if anyone needs anything from down there, make sure to drop me a note.

I haven't come across any new comments/opinions on the Raddison.
We sail in November and I'd like to stay there the night before.
Any ideas how they stack compared to similar hotels??

The rooms are good. They have a ceiling fan above the bed and I love that. The pool is very big and lots of fun for the kids. Did not eat there.

If you are interested in the shuttle, as of right now, I can not recommend that unless you want to stand in line for hours. Here are a couple of posts about the lines.

I've written emails and have not seen or heard any explanation. I tried to talk to the manager and got nowhere on the day of departure and return. Since they won't respond, I can only assume that they really do NOT care about the customer. Next time I will either park at the port or find a different hotel to stay in pre-cruise.

Thank you. We are looking forward to our Thanksgiving cruise on the Wonder.

:thanks:

Shirley, Nice to see you again! My husband and I wanted to give you a BIG thank you for your warning about the speed traps on the way in to Merritt Island. We must have passed five speed traps! Thanks to you, we coasted through all of them (very slowly)!

Hello everybody,
Sorry I haven't been "on board", but Norm and I went to our last class reunion in Key West (it was all the classes from 1950 to 1964) and needless to say, it was breathtaking to see so many old friends - we heard about everyone each day, but nothing like sitting around with a bunch of ol' conchs with hands flaring, mouths going a mile a minute and of course Key West music being playing by our local gang- Sunday the streets were closed as a parade of cars of about 100 or so took over Key West on our way to the Navy beach.
Bruce I will send a copy of your concern to Joe P at the Radisson and as soon as he answers me, will post his reply -OR you are most welcomed to write him directly and he is just a great GM and person, that he will take the time to write you.
Here is his email in case anyone has questions:

If I can help in any way, please feel free to call or drop me a note.

My pleasure - it is always nice to know that a heavy foot will get you the cost of anything you may want to buy on your vacation.

I'm bumping this as I needed it and it took me a while to find. It is such a useful thread, thanks Shirley.

Others might like to see it too, and new folk would never know it existed.

I am glad that you were able to study and get some sense of direction as to where to go, eat etc.
Coming into a strange town, this does help not feel so helpless.
Glad to help

I sure hope the Radisson has stepped up their game from this spring.
I just booked the night before our November cruise with them.
I asked for the 'early" shuttle time for the Disney Magic, I'm in no mood to wait for hours like some did this past year.

Desi since theRadisson does have a number of folks that sign up for the shuttle, I would suggest into looking into other options for those "just in case" problems that may crop up. They do get slammed and rather than your vacation start off stressful, it was just a thought of suggestion of other options so that it won't be.
