I wanted to let everyone know that I will be going to Key West on March 7th and if you want Key West information, you have to let me know ASAP - as before I always offered to collect a bunch of information and send it to you right from the "rock" - you have to send me a LARGE MANILLA ENVELOPE that is SELF ADDRESSED AND ABOUT $4.50 WORTH OF POSTAGE ON THE ENVELOPE -SEND IT HERE TO THE SHOP - I will take them down with me, fill them up and mail it back to you -

Just called the shop and ordered a sand pail for my daughter (medium size) I am sure she is going to be sooooo happy with it!
I spoke with a girl named Valerie. She was great. I inquired about the water. I passed on that. It was the same extremely high rate as Disney's water. I was willing to pay $10 for the Walmart $4 case, but not $24.00. That is really high. I inquired if the price was so high because of a delivery fee and was told that no you needed to make money,and that is why it was so much.

I guess we will just carry it on for the $4 per case price.

Thanks for taking the time to write - first on the water, I do not carry any "store brand" water and what I mostly carry is a higher grade water so sorry about the cost, but I can agree that it is easier to carry your own and save the extra monies.
I can assure you that your DD will enjoy her sand pail and they are all personalized so that the children can tell their pails from others.

We can deliver anything that is legal - anyhow here is the information on Avis - their email doesn't work, but you are most welcomed to call - Patty will mostly likely answer the phone and she is a sweetie too.
Yep they were the only ones that were willing to cross the barrier and come help these families that had never experienced a hurricane or knew it was so close - I felt the most sorry for the kids since they had just heard stories and was concern being so close to the ocean, they would be swept out to sea.
One of the things I can truly say about folks here, they will extend a helping hand if you are in trouble.

Shirley: A quick question for you.

We are renting a car at MCO and staying at CI&S overnight before our cruise. I am trying to coordinate leaving hotel, returning the car and arriving at the port.

In my mind I am thinking that we should keep the car overnight, have my husband drop me and my daughter at the port in the am, have him return the car and then he can take the rental shuttle to the port. Is this best approach in your opinion?

And I know you have posted a lot of info, but which rental company would be the easiest as far as this process goes considering convenience, quick shuttle return to the pier etc.

We are renting a car from Dollar. It states that they are in Cape Canaveral. I noticed they are not listed on the front page. Do you know if they are in fact there, and if so if there is a shuttle from the port to that location?

Keep the car - you will find it great to have transportation - its easier to drop everyone and everything off and one person return car and take shuttle.
If you are renting Avis and he gets bored, he can always walk over to the shop and we will keep him company .

Here is what is on the front page of the information list.

The closest Dollar car rental is on South Babcock in Melbourne which is about 20 to 25 mins away from the port. Your best bets are Budget, Avis, Thrifty, Enterprise and Hertz. National is in Cocoa Beach but do NOT offer shuttles so stay with the choices I mentioned and you won't have any problems.

I spoke to Stephanie Bailey one of the GM's and told her that it appears that Thrifty doesn't realize the impact that this will make on their business and I would be posting there new "charges" so be aware of this extra charge.

Where can I buy gas for my rental car/food /snacks/alcohol /toiletries I forgot to pack?

About a mile past the entrance to the port (right next door to Residence Inn and Country Inns and Suites) is a big Racetrak mini mart/gas station for beer and probably some wine plus other supplies as water, sodas, snacks etc. Most stores that sell only beer and wine and are allowed to sell between 7 am to 2 am except most places on Sunday don’t start until 12PM. Racetrak has a very friendly staff members and have been known to help many number of lost guests find themselves on the right road.
You have Jaimie as one of the managers if there is a problem.

That is a shame IMHO. I hope others don't follow suit. There goes Thrifty for me, and I will definitely advise anyone asking.
