DH and I just booked our 1st cruise ever for 2/21/09, Western, and I'm looking forward to Key West. I was born there but have never been since I left at 2 in 1955. I wonder, Shirley, if you knew my mother. She grew up in West Palm and married a conch, Joe Domenech. They divorced and she met my sailor dad down there. Which leads me to my real question. Mom died last March and was cremated. The Navy scattered Dad's ashes at sea but they don't do spouses. Do you have any idea who I would contact to get permission to scatter her ashes from the ship near Key West, but still far enough at sea not to be a legal problem? I really don't know who to ask. Sorry if the question is weird, but she spent happy years in Key West & had 4 out of 5 children there, so I think it would be a good location. They won't let me do it at WDW, which she & Dad also loved.(lol)

Joe Domenech comes from a long line of Key west conchs which had a shoe repair shop in Key West and lived in what is known as old town. My husband Norman remembers him well but believes he has passed away since he left Key West.

I wonder if you can tell me how far from Raddison Hotel to visitgrills restaurant as 6 of us that we don't think that hire car as we might book the limo from stanford to Raddison and stay there for 2 nights in May 08.

Should we need transport? or order taxi?

OK first off if you were a long stretch walker, it could be walked BUT first there are no sidewalks to get to the "other side" and then you would be dodging traffic and not worth the risk so walking to Grills is out. Heck, its hard enough trying to drive over to the port. If you are staying at the Radisson, please note what the GM put into effect in July 2007 - they will transport you there and pick you up for just staying at the Radisson. The information board will give you further help and if I can help any further, just let me know.

OK and update - Art's Shuttle has stopped the 10% discount for reason being that even though the discount were given, the driver's were not even offered a tip and customers became "more demanding" with the discount.
I am going to see if I can find someone else that will offer a discount. Meanwhile am sorry to see the cruisers lose this discount

UPDATE AGAIN ;-)
Dave from IDS stopped by the shop and asked me to put on the board that the boxes that are sent to him MUST be no more than 20# and the box sizes must be as requested. He was saying that he is getting some super heavy boxes and oversized ones and he doesn't want it to get out of hand so I told him I would honor his request.

I know I am going to sound super dumb, but I really don't understand what you are trying to say to me. Dave and I are friends for he really is a super nice, down to earth person for being such a big wig out at the port. He doesn't flaunt his 'wealth" etc - I can not do anything about folks sending stuff to him and if it continues to hurt the shop, then I will have to make a serious decision.
I believe you are really trying to say something nice to me and if so I really do appreciate the imput -

I have had an excellent teacher, my son Michael, that when he is in town, stands over me and tells me how to do "stuff" and then much of it also has been help from this board on how to accomplish stuff

I just wanted you to know that the Red Tide has still been horrendous here in Brevard County so be aware just in case you have allergies etc - We are hoping the affect of it will be gone this week, being that are temp. are doing to be dipping down there :-(

Hello Kay,
At the information on the first page, this will give you exalty where Hertz is located which is front of the Marriott Residence Inn.
The hotels that are listed AFTER the first 3 are either on the beach or near the beach. Best Western has purchased a motel which is located in front of their big hotel which was named Oceansuite and is in the process of being renovated and should be ready by the first of the year and it will have 2 rooms. I have stayed there when it was OceanSuites and I really enjoyed it due to the fact it was almost next door to the Cocoa Beach Pier and shopping.
I am sure others will post with their choices.
