DH and I just returned from our 8 day trip using the DDP. We discovered that most CS restaurants will let you get an extra bottle of water in place of dessert, which really helped since it was still pretty hot this last week while we were there. It also gave us snack credits to use on other things since we had the extra water.

Thanks for posting! I've been looking at the CS menus, and all I can think is that I'm going to be SICK of chocolate cake by the end of our trip! I can't believe I'm saying this, but I think I would actually prefer water. Very good to know!

CS stands for "Counter Service" (restaurant)...as opposed to a "Sit Down" (restaurant).

THanks!!! That will be very nice to do this summer...who needs some chocolate cake when you can get extra water??? We'll need the water, not the cake.

Thanks for the tip! Were there any CS that did not allow this?

If you have a refillable water bottle you can ask for a glass of ice water then pour it into your bottle to take with you. Then you can still have your dessert!

I wonder if they'd allow this for the kids desserts as well. From what I've heard... the kids don't get much for a choice on what to pick from. I guess it's sugar free jello...or sugar free jello.

We were able to substitute grapes for the desserts a couple of times, as well. This was great as we did get sick of so many sweets. :)

Another way to get extra water - If you have refillable mugs, use them for your drinks anytime you get a CS meal at your resort. You still get a beverage with your meal. We would get bottles of water or soda to drink later or take into the parks with us.

Do you know if that was just for adult desserts, or can we swap out a kids dessert?

what is a CS restaurant?

Welcome to the Dis!!!:welcome:

A few abbreviations that you will need to know on here:
CS or QS -Counter or Quick service (where you line up and order)
TS-Table Service. (they come to you)
ADR-Advance Dining Reservations
Ressies-same as above
DDP-Disney Dining Plan (add a F, means it is free)

Then of course, there are the abbreviations for every restaurant in WDW!! Like WCC, 50PT, CRT, CP, V&A, LTT, it goes on and on!!!

You will commonly see sentences like:
We are on the FDDP, so I made an ADR on an EMH day at CRT to use TS credits, but I wonder if it is worth 2TS, or if we should go to WCC at WL and LTT at MK instead??

Have fun with the lingo!!:thumbsup2

:cool1:

Great, I never eat the deserts from CS
so that's a great option!!!!!

Thanks again:flower3:

pixiedust: to everyone!!

I enjoy a good Madri Gras...........:joker: can't wait for 4/10:drive:

Okay... let me try this...

We are on the Free Disney Dining Plan, so I made an Advance Dining Reservation on an Early Morning Hour day at Cinderella's Royal Table to use table service credits, but I wonder if it is worth 2 table service, or if we should go to WCC (not sure) at Wilderness Lodge and LTT (Liberty Tavern T??) at Magic Kingdom instead??

It took me a while, but I'm getting the hang of this!!! Is a DH a Disney Husband?

Very Close!!
We on the Free Disney Dining Plan, so I made an Advanced Dining Reservation on an Extra Magic Hour day at Cinderellas Royal Table to use Table Service Credits, but I wonder if it is worth 2 table services, or if we should go to Whispering Canyon Cafe at Wilderness Lodge at Liberty Tree Tavern at Magic Kingdom instead?

DH is Disney Husband, or Dear Husband.
DW is wife, DS is son, DD is daughter, FIL is father in law, etc....
