Oh my!! This game is harder than I thought!! Just tried it twice and both times after getting through Round 1, I ended up back in the HM Lobby. Do your team members actually have the power to "boot" you from their team? LOL! Because I think that's what happened to me! One of my team members actually took the time to stop during the game and tell me that I should leave the game and that I stink!!! LOL! The nerve of him!!!

If team members can actually dump you, then I guess I don't stand the chance of ever playing this game and getting credits. How's a girl ever suppose to learn??

If I ever get into the game again (can't seem to today though) you are more then welcome to play with me. I stink too.

I'm sorry for those that don't do well but I found the Hall of fame tonight and I was on it. It tracks game wins. So now I have been given incentive to win. After I discovered I was on the board it was interesting to watch after final game I think I dropped another spot to someone still playing. I also had a first - during a game one round was a draw with no winner and it didn't go into sudden death. I had wondered if there would be a forth round. The answer is if game wins is a tie then it goes next to ghosts captured. cat_herder you did all right, keep trying I wouldn't boot you.

I also would not boot, if there is a way to boot. I pesonally have not seen any boot buttons that would allow someone to do it in the middle of a game, but then again I am paying more attention to the ghosts that anything else on the screen. I too would not mind anyone going in with me. I'm not great, but on the average, I get about 20 - 25 ghosts per round. So if you see the pretty pretty princess alien walking around in his pink shirt and princess hat *and sometimes shoes... rolf* just hit me up.

I think by now I've won somewhere between 35 and 40 games, so here's my advice that other people haven't already said:

4x4 is a complete disaster if you have a slow dial-up connection (as do I). I do much better playing 1x3, 1x4, 2x3, or 2x4.

If you get fairly decent at the game, try starting a game where it's just you versus 3 or 4 other players. Sounds like impossible odds, but everytime I've done that, I've won and gotten 400+ credits for ghost capturing alone. Also try a duo against 4 people.


One thing I don't get is the tie thing... sometimes it goes into sudden death, and sometimes it doesn't. All three times it didn't go into sudden death, the game chose a winner anyway, and I couldn't figure out how it did, considering the teams were tied. The credits don't make much sense either. I get the random 250 as well, and tonight got a 50 after losing. And I've gotten the 500 credits for winning the 10th time about 4 different times now. The other thing perhaps someone can enlighten me about-- the instructions say each ghost pays 1 credit, but yet we get 5. I seriously hope the 5 isn't just while the game's new... I'm enjoying having a lot of "money."

ETA: I'm usually on from 9pm or so onward, with an hour or so where I disappear for a break. But if I'm ever in the HM Lobby when y'all are (especially those of you having trouble with the game so far), feel free to play with me. I usually play on the purple team.

I stink at the game too. I'll be on VMK at opening if anyone wants to play. If not I guess I'll play against some tweens or something but I really don't like to do that since they yell at me to leave the game since I suck at it.

strange thing happened today

it was 1 on 1 and i won with 69 points

i got a bonus of 50 and got 345 credits for all the ghosts i caught
yet i get about 300 for over 100 points



still more credits yay

i found out why you get 250 sometimes it's because you got onto the scoreboard oh and my favorite people are those you don't read the rules, are on the opposite team and think you have to collect the opposing ghosts i get one of them most of the time i play

Today I signed up for a game,and the person who started the game had me alone on one side and four people on the other.

I'm still learning how to play,but on that note,I lost by one ghost.

I don't know if anyone mentioned this, but you also get 500 credits for winning ten times. CoughCoolGhoul found that one out. By the way: if you see him in the game, join HIS team....he is awesome. For some reason he moves very easily through the game and has no trouble sucking up the ghosts. He was one against 4 and he had 56 to 33 at the end once! He is the MAN at this game....I am just okay.

I probably look like those ppl. My mouse is so dratted bad, the opposite ghosts always catch me. I tried the directional keys, but that is worse for me

I never got yelled at by any teammates for being lousy at this game. What's nice about it is Mr. Hot Shot Ghostbuster on your team will still get plenty of credits if he has a successful game, even if YOU can't play the game to save your life (ha.). It definitely doesn't make me nervous when I play like Pirates does.

You know what I hate? When my teammates CHAT during the game! Unless you are in the door already, saying "come up here!" or something, you should not being saying "I stink at this" or "almost got him" or "arg!" etc. Why are you taking the time to type when you should be catching/avoiding ghosts??? That drives me CRAZY!

Sorry, had to let that out. I find it equally difficult to move with the mouse or keys. CoughCoolGhoul somehow has magical powers, you should see the way he moves through with ease, dodging ghosts, sucking up oppenents, and racing to the doors around obstacles (using the mouse) while I can barely move half the time!
I usually get him to play the game with my character, so if you see me in there doing great, its probably him And if you see Cough, GET ON HIS TEAM! LOL!

Thia game is awesome.

Sometimes it seems like it runs a little slower than normal, but what can you expect?

Just keep playing it to gat a handle on the movement. Do not use Ctrl+Shift, use one OR the other.

If your mouse gets stuck use the arrows to move one step and then resume.

Don't get overwhelmed if somehow you end up in a game like 4 against 1, with you as the 1.

I have smoked some of these players in EXTREMELY unfair teams.

When they try to do this the screen just ends up getting filled up with your color ghosts becasue they've caught all of thiers already, then all you have to do is clean up, and catcht the others players who get turned into ghost every 2 seconds at that point.

I also suggest letting the opposing team win round 2, so you have time to catch more ghosts.

The most I have caught in a single round is 41.

I don't know what is up with the Hall of Fame, though, I should have been up there like 5 times already.

Just keep playing and after certain numbers of plays you'll get bonuses.

Watch for where the ghosts are appearing, if there are a lot of one color in one area, very soon they will reverse, and the other area will get full. Be 100% of an oppertunist at this game.

Don't chat unless you've already found the door at the end, and if chat windows are clogging up your screen, move downstairs for a while.

Wise words from many of you on the game. I will add some things without echoing everyone else's words. Some of my most fun games were one on one games with the only goal to get credits. When I play this type of game, if I get turned into a ghost, my partner changes me back and we both clean up the ghosts of our own colors, for big credit wins. It's also fun helping each other out. The main drawback is if one person crashes, the 50 credits don't get rewarded. However, you still get the credits for capturing ghosts.

To make the most possible credits, do a 1 on 4 or 1 on 3 with you being the 1. As people have said before, it leaves tons of ghosts for you with little ghosts on the other team to turn you into a ghost.

If competition is truly your game, rather than credit earning, then by all means do the 3 or 4 on 4 games for fun.

I like that VMK finally has a game that's fun, easy enough to play for credits, and also great for competition. I wish pirates had a better payoff too. Perhaps for every ship you sink you get 10-20 credits and a payoff at the end for being on the winning team.

One drawback to the game, however, is that I sometimes want to earn credits with one partner, but most newbies only want to win. As such, if I don't have any friends online who understand this concept, I am stuck playing for fewer credits. It might have been nice to have a computer opponent to choose from (but only if I could pick the number of computer opponents rather than a 2 on 2 like pirates).

The Hall of Fame is number of game wins, not ghosts caught.

Another hint, chase the ghosts into your opponents. Don't just catch them. When you run towards your color ghosts it will move them in the direction you are going. I use this a lot to get double points.

Does anybody try to cooperate and lose a round on purpose? That way you can force the the game into 3 rounds and get more ghosts.

I have a question: How do I point my vacuum cleaner ghost sucker at the ghost? When I approach a ghost and hit control (and not shift now, thanks to CoughCool Ghoul - good tip, thanks) it seems like my vacuum cleaner ghost sucker suddenly points the other way and the ghost gets away. Any words of wisdom? I fear I will never make the GhostBusters!
