Three weeks ago my DH offered us a choice. Book a place somewhere along the ocean or go to Disney. DUH he didn't stand a chance, we're going to Disney:banana:

Every day he asks me if I've made ADR's. We are not on the dining plan because DH and DD2 are the worlds worst eaters (not just picky, they don't bother to eat). DD1 and I are the opposite, we eat just about everything.

So far I've booked us for late lunches at 50's Prime time cafe and Liberty Tree Tavern (DD's are 18 and 13 and we aren't doing character meals). We also have 9 pm ADR's at Boma.

Here's my questions:

1. Is 9:00 too late for all you can eat Buffet? Animal Kingdom is listed as a extra hours that night so I hoped we could stay there and then head over to the lodge.

2. Rose & Crown? DD2 and I went to London last year and fell in love with the Pasty's in Coventry Gardens. Anybody here have them at R& C? They didn't have a sauce on them in England so we would want no sauce on these.

3. If I can book one dinner at Epcot, which place is the most fun?:dance3:

4. Can we order off the children's menu for a 13 year old (willing to pay a higher charge)? DD2 loves chicken fingers and fries, won't touch pizza.:confused3

And finally, can we live a whole week just eating CS?

As long as you (in particular the kids) don't mind eating that late, nothing wrong with eating at 9:00. Note that the Disney buffets aren't like your local Sizzler, where they stop putting out new food at some point and all is left is gunk that has been under the warming lamps too long.

Biergarten is, hands-down, the most fun place to eat in Epcot. Coral Reef might be second, but I think the food's vastly overpriced if you aren't on the Dining Plan.

Almost all the Disney restaruants will make accomidations for picky teens - just ask your server and they'll hook you up.

If you like eating at 9pm then by all means go for it.

We love the Biergarten in Epcot even your picky one(she really won't eat pizza?:sad2: ) will find something to eat and it's just plain fun.

Have her talk to the servers and they will find something she will like.

You can go a whole week eating counter service, but I do like getting served on vacation.

And BTW Liberty Tree Tavern is a character meal served family style with Goofy and the gang.

Thanks for the tips so far:goodvibes

We ate at the Biergarten last two times we were in Epcot (I spent my childhood in Germany) so I guess we'll be going there again!

It drives my Brooklyn Italian MIL insane :scared1: but neither of my DD's eat pizza! DD2 is so picky that she also doesn't eat hotdogs or pb&j

Our ADR for Liberty Tree Tavern is for a late lunch. They only do characters at dinner time (according to the woman I spoke to when making the ADR).

I figured mid afternoon would be a good time to sit down in air-conditioning.

My 13 year old daughter ordered from the kid's menu all last week while we were at WDW. The trip before, we tried the DDP and it was really difficult - she's just not an adult entree eater yet. She had kid's menus at all the restaurants we ate at - Prime Time Cafe, Sci Fi Dine-In, Coral Reef, San Angel, Narcoossee's, Concourse Steakhouse, Jiko, etc.

A really fun restaurant is Morocco. I'm a picky eater, too, but they have a wonderful lemon chicken dish that's basically chicken and rice. Both of my girls love Morocco, although we didn't get to it this time. They also really like the Japanese restaurant. We all like the Coral Reef, but were disappointed in San Angel.

We like the Rose and Crown, but my daughter didn't like the Shepherd's Pie. I don't remember about the pasty, but I'm sure you could tell your server what you wanted. The girl who served us in England was the friendliest server we've ever had - especially welcoming and lots of fun to chat with when she heard that my older daughter had been in England this summer!!!

I think Biergarten is a good choice! We really enjoyed our meal here and would eat here again! :)

Lots of good suggestions, thanks!

We're staying at the Boardwalk so I know if I don't schedule some things that we are going to end up eating at ESPN the whole time :happytv:

One meal at ESPN is ok but more than that?:headache:

I'll be happy so long as I get to eat an icecream every day. Will have to try a dolewhip!

We've even had an experience where adults we allowed to order off the kid's menu. In Jan. 06, my family ate at Hollywood Brown Derby for lunch. I wasn't real hungry and my 2 DSis are very unadventurous eaters. Our server was very accomodating and said we could order off the kid's menu. We all chose the chicken breast (with green beans). The only difference, in the price, for us adults, was that the beverage wasn't included. Our server told us we could even order a double, or triple, order. It worked out well for us-the single serving was fine, and we had room for dessert! :goodvibes

ITA! To me that is the best restaurant in Epcot. People seem to over look it completely. Live entertainment and really good food. I'm super picky as well but I always walk out stuffed! I like the shishkebobs and the chicken cous cous. The dessert bastilla is wonderful as well. very good mint tea. Personally I hated Beirgarten when I went last. Blah food that was not authentic at all. I prefer the entertainment at Marrakesh by far as well.

As for the comments about adults ordering off of the kids menu, I do it often. I am picky and not a big eater, so a kids meal is sometimes all I want. Just ask nicely and they'll allow it. Heck I can even do it locally at all of the sit down restaurants as well ;)

Nice photo with Jack Sparrow! :cool1:

My girls will just die if they get to take a shot like that

Thanks, I was pretty happy myself! I usually don't get into the pictures with the characters, but hey, it's Jack Sparrow. He was excellent, talked just like JD, and he put his arm around my waist! Even better he spent about 5 mins. talking to my DD7, and all she could do was giggle! She's usually the most talkative person around, but she hardly said 10 words to him. It was very funny! :rotfl2:

We went back a few weeks later and saw Capt. Jack again, but, sadly, it was a different one.:confused3 But, at least I have this photo to admire! :rotfl2:

Normally, I don't show my signature on additional posts on the same thread, but this time I will! Enjoy.
