Ok ive now realised my fiances family basically dont want to come to our wedding with the exception of his parents 1 set of grandparents they have all made their excuses! After discussing it with my fiance we have deceided to go ahead anyway, after all its what we want and im not going to change it to please them!

My problem is that our original plan doesnt seem like a gd idea now. Our original Plan was...

Welcome dinner at Ohana's
Wedding ceremony at Yacht Club Gazebo
Pre Reception on the patio by the convention centre
Reception in the Asbury Room in the Yacht club convention centre
Finishing with Illuminations dessert party.

Most of this i think will be ok, however when we went for our site visit i loved the asbury room - but there are now only going to be 22 in total. Im really concerned that we willbe swamped by the room. Im not sure i can afford to go out again before the wedding so if anyone has any suggestions as to where we could have the reception i would be so grateful! Id like to keep it within the Epcot/Yach+Beach area if possible!

Laura, sorry i can't help on rooms as i've just began researching. But, just wanted to say that i'm glad you're still going ahead with the disney wedding. I've read your other posts, and i think it is terrible the way his family tried to manipulate you into not having your wedding there. Good luck with the rest of the planning.

I know the feeling Laura, the in laws....good luck - what about Ariels or were you wanting someplace smaller? Or the Attic at the Boardwalk?

We were also a small group, and had the reception in Living Seas. It was beautiful, and while it could hold a much larger group it was set up perfectly for our party of 30 (including DH and I). I'm sure they will do the same in any setting, using lighting, table set ups and general decor. Do what YOU want, don't worry about anything (how it looks) or anyone else. Then you will never have any regrets!

We got switched the the Cape Cod room last minute- Asbury was having electrical problems. It was perfect! It has a row of windows that allow for natural light and a lower ceiling that keeps it intimate. Being swallowed was one of my concerns, and we got very fortunate that our EM shuffled a few people to get us in there.

At the GF (I know, I know it's away from that area), the Whitehall Room and Patio would be perfect. My surprise Mad Hatter's Tea Party was there (let out girlish scream!) and it was perfect! W#e were just about a group of 25, I believe.

I would seriously look into the Cape Cod.

Thanks! it was my fiance that i was worried about! but actually it was his decision, and to be honest it means we can spend the money we would have spent on them on the guest that do want to be there!

I hadn't even thought about the cape cod room, does anyone have any pics of it? or of the attic? Also does anyone know where i would have the pre reception with either of those locations?

Thanks! :flower:
