I need some advice please from anyone and everyone.:worship:

Here is the dillema.

Planning a wedding for next spring. Second marriage for both of us and we want this intimate and close and about us celebrating finding true love and happiness. We are planning on under 18 guests right now and am really having a hard time deciding between a Wishes wedding or a Escape wedding.

I know I would order a bigger picture package than the one that comes with the Escape wedding as well as some sort of reception and a dessert reception as well. I am concerned that the minimums of the Wishes wedding would be spent on aspects that are not all that important to me and since we have such a small group - would we not be better going OOP for the additions?

Here is my thoughts on what I forsee:
Wedding at one of the venues at Y&B or Boardwalk in AM then reception brunch (would love the Attic at Boardwalk but not sure if I can have it with a Escape wedding.)

Then a dessert reception on either some pontoon boats watching Iluminations or at Lower UK.

Based on this - do you think I would be better off with Escape or Wishes wedding?

Money is important to us - 5 teens and one heading to college next year.

For those who have already gotten married - what was well worth the money and what was something you could have done without?

Thanks for all advice. I appreciate it and hope to start my PJ by next week once we get thiese decessions fine tuned!:lovestruc

I don't know the answer to all of your questions, as I'm new here- but I'm sure others will post quickly!

I know that when we first started looking at things, we were planning escape, and then saw how easily one could spend the same on escape as on wishes (if you did it up) and asked the sales person about if switching to wishes was a good idea (mainly because we liked the idea of the italy ceremony site). She told us that with wishes you have a lot of other minimums besides the cost- like 25 hotel room nights as one example- and that put us of immediately with us having such a small party (us and our kids doing a vow renewal!)... So, we're sticking with escape. I know others have made the switch over to wishes, though, and hopefully they will explain why they did it!

Also- this is important to note with budgeting- as I've been going over all my figures, its REALLY easy to add it up without the tax and forget about that part. I've been told it is 22 percent and another 6 percent on top of that! Which easily adds a thousand and up to your budget... so make sure you calculate that in to start!

Goodluck with your decisions!!!

That is us as well. Right now confirmed yes's is about 12 and a few others are on the fence. The room minimum of 25 is pretty steep. I would pay for the photo's either way but am not sure I would need some of the extras.

I had just been told the Escape wedding was $3500 and now the website shows it at $4,500 so I need to verify that with Joe the wedding guru!I understand that that would cover quite a bit of what I want but things like the Limo - I would not need so feel like even an Escape wedding will give me things that are more than what I would pick for myself.

Ugh!

Great advice! That is a good point as it can add up fast!

You can always start our Escape and change to Wishes- people have done that.

That would make sense. Going up VS down makes sense. We are in Disney right now actually and have been really looking at venues and met with Joe and really are trying to make a good choice. I am ready to pull my hair out though!

I felt like we were trying to worry about attendes we really did not want there in order to make minimums and that is not what I want.
