I'm new to this board and am very overwhelmed! Our last 5 or 6 vacations have been cruises on Royal Caribbean and I learned so much on the message boards. My son gets to choose this summer's vacation so we've booked WDW. We're going in late June and will be spending 7 nights in a Savannah View at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. We've purchased the Hopper passes plus waterparks and a dining package that gives each of us 3 meal tickets and 2 snack tickets per day. I am so overwhelmed that I don't even know where to begin. I'll take any advice on where to eat....:cool1:

Allears has great info, and so does wdwinfo.com. Just take it one thing at a time, its SOO easy to get overwhelmed!! You'll read tons of conflicting info, again, just take it all with a grain of salt. You might want to try Birnbaum's Official Guide to Walt Disney World. I got mine at Barnes and Nobles website.

My advice: just get a good guidebook, read it, then come back to the forums. Use the book as a intro to whats available, like a primer, then come to DIS to get more specific. That way, you won't be trying to figure out what the heck DDP is while you're trying to figure out what ME is. (By the way....DDP is disney dining plan, which you said you have, and ME is Magical Express, the free transfer service WDW has for guests going to/from the airport).

Ask lots of questions!! Good luck!

PM me if you have any specific questions. I think you need to have 10 posts first.

Welcome to the boards!! You will find so much great information here that you will be able to plan a wonderful vacation!

Allearsnet.com has great information on all the restaurants, including menus.

Some of our favorites are:

Resorts:
O'Hana's Character Breakfast @ the Polynesian
Chef Mickey's Breakfast @ the Contemporary
Kona Cafe @ the Polynesian
Whispering Canyon @ Wilderness Lodge

MK:
Columbia Harbor House (CS)
Cosmic Ray's (CS)
Pinocchio Village Haus (CS - great view of It's A Small World if you can get the right table!)

Epcot:
Le Cellier (TS - Canada)
San Angel Inn (TS - Mexico)
Tangierine Cafe (CS - Morocco)
Yorkshire County Fish Shop (CS - UK)

Animal Kingdom:
Tusker House (CS)
Flame Tree BBQ (CS)

MGM:
We have only eaten at the ABC Commissary here. It was a good CS.

Boardwalk:
Spoodles (TS)

Those are the favorite restaurants for my family. Don't forget to pick up some Zebra Domes at Mara :cloud9: .

Good luck with your planning, and let us know if we can help!

I already feel so much better! We'll probably hit the book store this weekend. I have to ask what TS and CS stand for!! It's good to know DDP and ME!:goodvibes

:) You are correct!!! Definitely get a guide book. I like Birnbaums because there are lots of pictures to get you excited, and I feel like they genuinely enjoy Disney. Some of the others seem very critical, and make it sound like every ride has a 45 min wait which is NOT TRUE! Allearsnet.com editors also LOVE Disney. You can read every menu for every restaurant on their website. Then you can read reviews for the restaurants. Don't be overwhelmed. Planning is part of the fun. The people on here are super, and love to talk about Disnsy all day long so we would love to help you!
