Help!!

No hovering please.



My mom thinks I'm eating too much. I'm at that stage where I'm putting on the pounds because I'm about to grow and its been going on for longer than I expected.
So far today I've had

Breakfast:2 eggs with 2 pieces of bacon.
Lunch: 4 waffles with syrup and a pinch of powdered sugar
Dinner: Special K
Snack: handful of snowcaps.

I've been on weight watchers before and lost about 4 pounds but gained it back. Do you suggust WW? What do you think I should do?:confused:
An help would be great!

Ok, the eggs and bacon for breakfast for breakfast was a good choice. But I'm not so sure about the 4 waffles for lunch. :confused3

One thing I will definatley tell you is NEVER starve yourself! I started cutting down a couple weeks ago to the point where I'd miss breakfast and eat something very, very little for lunch. Then I started feeling weird and I decided there were other ways to lose weight.

Do you have a lifestyles or curves or something in your town that you and your mom can become members too? My mom and I are part of lifestyles so we work out a couple times a month. We're actually going to start going more. Anyways, try to go to one of those places and workout there. OR You could go to a local park and run, jog, walk, etc. It's kind of hard right now due to the weather because of the cold but it'll start warming up in a few weeks. And you could even do like pushups or situps while watching tv.

As for eating.......Have you and your mom go through the cupboards and fridge and throw out all the junk;cookies, chips, etc. Then go to the grocery store TOGETHER and get fruits, vegetables, pretzels, cheese, deli meat......healthy stuff. And when you get home, cut up the fruits and veggies and store them in ziplock baggies and keep them in your fridge and they'll be there for a quick, healthy snack/lunch. Try to stay away from pop and juice and buy bottled water. Keep it in the fridge/freezer, and you'll have ice cold water.

I've done WW before and did really well on it even as a wheelchair user (it's harder for me to move my body for excercise so i really have to lose weight through better food choices and better portion choices.

The food you described that you ate today so far are NOT good choices. and 4 waffles is WAY beyond a neccesary portion size. (you asked my opinion, i'm not trying to offend you i promise!)

Losing /maintaing weight is so hard!

You may be in a growth spurt but you will get plenty of calories and food if you make good choices and use correct portion sizes.

I like WW because I can eat whatever I want based on points (I REFUSE to give up any food). But it also taught me portion sizes AND how to balance out choices. I can have pizza for dinner if i have a salad for lunch but I can't have a fast food burger and fries and then have pizza for dinner.

p.s I reccomend starting with trying to eat correct portion sizes without even paying attention to what you're eating. It's the easiest of the 3 (food choice, portion control, excercise) as far as i'm concerned. you don't have to carve time out to exercise, you dont' have to limit/worry about choosing correct foods, you just pay attention to size of the food your having. Later once you got that down and see that part is not that hard, you can add in one of the other 2 (again i'd pick whatever is the next easiest for you).

Breakfast is key.
For many year I was never told why it 'jump started my day.'
It boosts your metabolism, and food and calories can be digested quicker and you'll probably feel better most of the day.

I wouldn't reccommend throwing out all of your junk. You should either try lessening your portino sizes or just over time, little by little, stop eating certain things. You could say 'I'm going to try to drink more water this week.' and every week, you start drinking less soda.

You aren't going to get fit if you just stop eating less or healthy. If you want a flat stomach or something, you need to work on your abs (yes! girls have abs, we just like them flat =) ) by doing abdomen exercises.
The best way to actually lose weight all over your body is:
Cardio:
Running.
Skipping (very good).
Walking.
Boxing.
Dancing.
Turbojam (it's like this crazy workout video that's set to upbeat music where you do boxing and dancing mixed together, it's really neat.)

DO NOT GO HUNGRY!!!

Just remember one thing if you are hungry, eat. Just don't eat a waffle or a peice of cake everytime you get hungry. Eat something healthy, like some strawberries or somce carrots or something...

Eat when your hungry stop when your satisfied. Do not eat until you feel sick. Eat until you no longer feel the burning hunger.

As for exercise do you have a pool, treadmill, etc. or access to it? I keep fit because I do a lot of sports. Are you athletic? Do not overdo the exercise either...

And make sure you're doing this for you. I cannot strongly enough emphasize this fact. If you don't think you need to lose weight then don't. Do not base your opinions on what your mother says.

One more thing, everybody is beautiful. On the inside and out. Our society just wants everyone to be toothpicks. Just because you might not think you look as good as everyone else, doesn't mean your don't. Everyone is equal and it does not matter what you look like. Don't worry, be happy with life. Don't obsess about it...

Hopefully, you will do what you want, and not what others want you to do. :hug:

I'm going through what you are going through at this time right now... My mom is freaking because suddenly fitness and how I look is important to her... Me? Oh, I've always been fine with how I look. Here's what I've done over the last 2 or so weeks:

I've cut back on the sweets -- Oreos, Thin Mints (although, I had a sleeve because someone was giving them out for free during lunch, but that's the first in about two weeks)

I've been exercising -- Participating more in gym class, walking my dogs a mile every day (both have benefitted) dancing to my iPod music and making up my own routines... Doing fun stuff that promotes my health in a better way.

EATING BREAKFAST!!! -- I've always eaten breakfast but I have to tell you -- Eating breakfast is better for your weight than skipping it... You might think -- Oh, no food, I don't feel hungry... -- YOU are starving yourself... You haven't eaten for about 9 or so hours... You burned about 450 cal. when you were sleeping, YOU NEED FOOD! On the go? Try Instant breakfast, quick, easy and pretty good. Even a glass of chocolate or white milk in the morning is better than nothing..

begahhhhhh. thank you for that. i've been feeling like crap forever because i'm not doing so amazing with my weight. and i never have. so i've pretty much learned to accept who i am, and if i change it, it's for the better.

You are very welcome. And I'm glad you can accept who you are. Not many teenage girls can do that. At least not without going through something first.

That model looks as though she was already born, tall, skinny and strong, but decided to stop eating or something. It disturbs me how her hip bones are sticking out.

Venus, she has shape to her, and she's perfect. Her stomach looks flat, but her bones aren't sticking out, and she has curve.

haha! yeah............but im getting subway for dinner. so that should balance it out! ;)
 
if you really think youre putting on too much, just eat more foods with whole grains, and less with flour. excersise daily, and you'll be in much better shape (not saying you already arent or anything)
