Thanks to all for the wonderful info on this board. I need help deciding on what to do...I was able to get ressies at the WL using my AP rate for 3 nights ($134 inc tax WV) and 4 nights at RR ($244 inc tax). I was also able to find a discount for all 7 nights at the CR tower ($284 inc tax).
Now, which to choose? My family loves both resorts. The convenience of the Monorail is great, especially for those late nights (we are going during a busy time), but the beauty and feel of the WL is great too (will be there while XMAS decorations are up). Any opinions or advice would be appreciated!:D

.....uhhhhh, did I mention that I like the WILDERNESS LODGE??!?!?

What a delima to have!

I've stayed at both. They are both beautiful resorts with their own "personality". I think the WL pool area is a wee bit better than CR's. I really missed the theme music around the CR pool.

I would rank transportation equal. Dh & I find the monorail to be so overrated. I can't tell you how many times we'd sit at a station for 5-6 minutes w/out moving. (There is a clock that times your stop.)

I like the walking distance to MK from CR but WL is my pick. It's a great hotel with bigger rooms and better ambiance.

Thanks to those who replied, but I will have to wait until next year to decide!
Yeah, a real problem I know.. May all of our problems be this hard!

While I think I like the WL theming better, I think that the CR tower is too great an opportunity to pass up-- it seems so magical to be able to see the full Magic Kingdom out your window... if it was between CR Wing and WL, however, then I would have chosen the WL because its pool is better and the lobby is astounding. But the location of the CR can't be beat and it truly is a magical resort.

Can you tell I like both? :)

Actually, the rooms at Disney's Wilderness Lodge are smaller than those at Disney's Contemporary Resort when you compare their square footage.

Monorail access is wonderful, but not only that, you can walk to the Magic Kingdom. This is awesome, especially if you plan to visit other resorts. You can just stroll over to the Magic Kingdom bus stop area and hop on the bus for the relevant resort and, provided you are returning when the Magic Kingdom buses are still running, you can do the same in reverse to get back home.

I'm also not one who enjoys switching resorts mid-trip so if the budget allowed, I would go with Disney's Contemporary Resort for the entire stay. Either way though, you can't go wrong as they are both outstanding resorts.

What about splitting WL and CR? You could save a little money that way instead of staying over CR the whole time. If you can't do that, I would say CR the entire stay. I wouldn't be able to stay onsite (RR is offsite, right?) and then switch to offsite for 4 nights, especially if I knew I could have been at the CR. If you are going during a busy time, then you definitely don't want to stay offsite. If you can swing the $284 for CR tower, then go for it!
