Hi,

As we are off pretty soon:cool1:, I have been thinking about what to pack! We usually go in Dec, and take a selection of clothes as it can be a bit unpredictable!
Anyway, I was wondering if I need to take any fleeces/sleeves, etc; (maybe for the eve), or if it will just be so hot we won't need them! I've read that there is likely to be rainstorms daily, but that they dry up quickly:)
Also, will we need insect repellant? When we went to Vero Beach, I read that we should because of the 'no see-ums'! Are they around Orlando in Aug?!

Thanks!

Hi there and :welcome: You really shouldn't need fleeces this side of November but you may want to take a light cardigan or two for those times after a rain shower when the winds often pick up or for a meal at a restaurant or visit to the shops where the AC is turned up to arctic blast :goodvibes Seriously some of them can be very chilly after a hot and / or humid day in the parks. Best to leave the thicker items at home unless you get very chilly on the return flight, sometimes the blankets on the planes don't offer enough in the way of warmth. Other than that you should be fine.

You won't need any fleeces!
It is very hot at this time of year.
My youngest and the missus are sometimes a little cold in restaurants due to the AC.

Depends where you are staying really as we stick to condos now and can throw everything in the wash every few days - means we bring much less clothes than we used to.
Get your stuff out, put it on the bed and then half it!

Anything you find you need you can buy it out here.

Enjoy.

Thankyou!:flower3:

I was wondering about travelling in a track suit, as we have a 5hr stopover in Philidelphia on the way out, and I was thinking about the ac...!

Thanks for the advice:thumbsup2
We also will have a washing machine/dryer. I'm such a saddo, I love using them, because they are so quick compared to mine!!
Only problem this year will be getting DD's 15 to take less clothes!! It seems like they have a different outfit for every hour of the day!!:rotfl2:

Oh I forgot to say Disney spray for bugs all year around so you shouldn't worry about them on Disney property of any kind. Only when we've been to other places like KSC and BG oh and one of the i think it was the LBV Factory Outlets a few years ago when we have ever been bitten.
Fire ants can sometimes be a problem in more remote areas but most hotels and parks spray for them and everything else that crawls or flies so you should be okay. Enjoy your holiday

I would say to always have some sort of a light jacket or hoodie. After the heat of the parks the restaurants can feel very chilly. Also after wet weather it can be a bit on cooler side for younger ones. I remember buying a towel to wrap my daughter in at one stage (July!!!!:confused3). She is running around in shorts here but I think it is the changeability of temperature that makes her uncomfortable, going from very hot to a lovely cool restaurant. Also she was much more comfortable in a light raincoat (lined) than a poncho. Enjoy your trip.

One DD is always cold, even when it's hot here!

Hello all this is my first post although my DH has been posting here for a couple of years.

Thank you for the advice :-)
We are taking our first trip to DW in 4 weeks or so and I have been wondering what to pack. I have planned that we will be wearing shorts and t-shirts during the days around the parks, its good to know that we may need a cardi/hoodie for resturants and shops.

After the summer we are having in the UK this year I am really looking forward to seeing the sun, and feeling some warmth on my skin, is going to feel like heaven. No doupt I'll be moaning I'm to hot after a couple of days! :-/ LOL

Anyway thanks and 'I'll be back' to check the DH is making the right plans for us! LOL
