Help with VOLUNTEERING/Community Service in LONDON?

Aloha!

Hoping some UK friends might have some advice...

DS arrives early SEPT for his fall SEMESTER in LONDON!

Part of his requirement is to VOLUNTEER or do community service along with his academic program (which we think is a TERRIFIC requirement). However, he's been trying to locate positions thru the internet and not much is popping up. Since many of these opportunities are very local in nature, does anyone have an idea where to begin?

He will be living in the Maida Vale area and his classes are near the British Museum..so anything betwixt & between would work. He is open to any suggestions.

if his college are clued up then they will have contacts for volunteering. If not try looking up millennium volunteers, or timebank online. They generally let you have access to volunteering options all over the country

Thanks for the tips...he'll try them today. Unfortunately, there is a new Prof. in charge of this program and he says students are on their own. DS is trying to line up options before hand as he knows that living independently (the students are in their own flats) in a new city (and country!) learning currency and transportation as well as acclimating to a whole new semester of academics will be pretty time-consuming at first.

WoW! LIVERPOOL! We are mad for our FAB FOUR in this house (may be why DS is named PAUL!!!???)
