Help with Ticket Upgrade

I know this question has been asked and answered in the past – but just want to make sure nothing is different with all the magic band changes. I’d like to purchase a DVC annual pass. Can I buy discounted tickets from undercover tourist (perhaps the 4 day park hopper for $349 with the $28 discount), run through the turn styles once, and then upgrade the ticket to a DVC annual pass for $485? If I do that I figure I’ll still owe apx. $110.

Also, if I purchase tickets through UT, can I still make fast pass reservations? Can I make fast pass reservations with the annual pass voucher I would buy from DVC?

Thanks in advance for the help!

Unless there has been a change in the past 6 weeks ...

Yes, you can buy a ticket from UCT, run through the turn styles and pay for the upgrade to DVC. Just make sure you have your DVE membership card (self-evident, but you'd be surprised).

Yes, you can make fast pass reservations with the tickets from UCT.

I do not know about FP reservations with the voucher. I seem to remember reading on here that you could NOT, that the code number on the voucher would not activate as a ticket in MDE. I can be completely wrong.

Hope that helps.

I’d like to purchase a DVC annual pass.

1- Can I buy discounted tickets from undercover tourist (perhaps the 4 day park hopper for $349 with the $28 discount), run through the turn styles once, and then upgrade the ticket to a DVC annual pass for $485?

2- If I do that I figure I’ll still owe apx. $110.

Also,

3- if I purchase tickets through UT, can I still make fast pass reservations?

4- Can I make fast pass reservations with the annual pass voucher I would buy from DVC?

Thanks in advance for the help!

1- Yes.
2- Didn't run the numbers, but that's how it works.
3- Yes.
4- You need to have the AP, proper.
(Otherwise, you could just hold the voucher for years, continuing
to make FP+ reservations with no valid ticket.

4) I am not entirely sure that is correct. We had AP vouchers for our last trip and were able to link it to MDE and make FP+ reservations. If you think about it, it is no different than having a ticket from UT - you link it to MDE and can then make FP+ reservations. But you don't actually have to use that ticket, you could just continue to make FP+ reservations with it linked to MDE (yes, eventually an unused ticket might run out - maybe - but you could still do it).

OP, the only thing you couldn't do is buy the DVC discounted pass and apply your UT ticket to it, I don't think, since you pay for the pass when you order it.
