Hi All,

The first of our 5 days in the parks is Thurs 18th Sept. All along I've been planning to do Disneyland on the 1st day as I thought it might be more special arriving & walking down Main Street etc as this is the 1st visit for my children & the 1st in about 18 years for myself but now seeing that Disneyland will close at 5pm I'm wondering if we would be better doing CA for the day instead....

Or would it be better to try & use our Magic Morning that day (if we aren't to jet lagged...) & start off in Disneyland but then cross over to CA in time to get RSR fast passes & spend the rest of the day there? What time would we have to leave to try & grab fast passes??

Would appreciate any input - thanks so much :)

I am planning on doing CA that day. But it's my second to last day. Not sure how many days you're there for, but you could do DL with or without your MM then go over to CA later in the afternoon when DL is starting to close. Wouldn't help you much with RSR though.
Jet lag I think you'll be fine the first day, it'll be the second day that it really hits you, least I think that's how it was when I flew your way but that was 14 years ago

Do you get a MM in DL and one in DCA?

From what I've read here, the best way to get fast passes to RSR is to go on a MM. Grab RSR fastpasses and ride them at that time, too. Get World of Color Fastpasses as soon as possible, too.

That day will be our second to last day there, also. I contemplated scheduling dinner at Goofy's Kitchen that evening around 6, but that would pretty much eat up the rest of the day at DCA, too. We get MM every day since we are onsite this time, so we will do MM at DL, and will finish off the day at DCA. What our specific schedule in between is, I haven't decided yet. ;)

If you opted to use MM at DL on 9/18, I recommend trying to do Fantasyland before it gets too busy. The Peter Pan ride always has a long line and there is no shade in the line until you are very nearly on the ride. Hitting Fantasyland first takes you through the castle princess: and typically you can do your favorites more than once before the park officially opens.

Fastpasses would be the next step. Indiana Jones ride is still closed that day, but they open on Friday, so no big. (Friday is our last day :sad1: ) Be sure to get Splash MT and Space MT, if you want them.

This will be your first time at DCA, won't it? I hope you guys have a blast pixiedust:

Thankyou both so much for the replies. It's all very exciting & yes our first visit to DCA - really don't know what to expect, we can't wait :)
