Hi

Just wondering if any of you good people out there can give me some help with the Magic Your Way package deals, coming from the UK up till now we have always had a ticket for the parks called the 21 day Ultimate ticket, which i believe is only available in the UK.

We are hoping to go back to Florida in 2012, a long way off i know but we are going to be a party of 8, as it stands at the moment, so i have been looking at all the options. We are DVC members and will book accommodations in the DVC resorts but i am also thinking of possibly booking a resort with cash hopefully to get Free DDP. So the other day while taking a peek at the US Disney World web site, i came across the MYW package deals, the one i was really drawn to was the Platinum deal, athough it was v expensive i thought it offered a huge amount of things to do.

Now i am still a novice and i just couldn't quite work out how the 10 day MYW package works if there is Free Dining available, from how i read it seemed that the packages just gave you discount on dining? So i am a bit confused if Disney is offering Free dining, does this still apply to these MYW deals. Also if 10 days is the maximum, if you are staying at least 14 nights would you have to purchase more days some how?

Sorry if i am making this more complicated than it should be but i just couldn't seem to get my head around it all.

If anyone could give me some guidance i would be v grateful.

Thanks:)

You might want to contact a travel agent or Disney direct about the non DVC packages. They would be your best source for information. You can also try the other forums here on the DIS.

:)Thanks Bill,

I was just hoping for a little guidance so i don't ask for the wrong thing or not make myself clear. I confuse myself, lol so i am sure i could confuse other people!

We are from Canada and prior to buying DVC we used the Magic Your Way package. What we did was stay for 14 days and got the 10 day park hopper (older kids who could close the parks) plus the regular dinning plan. I factored in 1 day of travel at the beginning NO PARK day as we never arrived before 2pm and day of departure NO PARK day as we always had to leave for the airport around 11 am. I know that its different for travel to the UK is usually late in the day as you travel through the night. This left us with 12 days of vacation and only 10 days of park tickets. If you added on the water park and more option this would also give you 10 plus tickets that you might not be able to use.

I would plan our park days based on operating hours at each park. Making sure our dinner was scheduled for the park we plan to end our day in or at one of the resorts very near by....O'Hanna for MK, Cape Maye for HS ect. I would make sure our off days were days we either planned to relax by the pool, resort hop ect. I would also make sure that I would book a ADR at a resort location or Downtown Disney.

One thing we were lucky with and don't know if the loop hole has been closed on this but we got to split our 2 weeks into 1 week times 2 for the buy 4 get 3 free deal. We upgraded our park tickets from 7 to 10 days for our first week(which we used during the 14 days of our trip) and purchased an upgraded 10 day park hopper for our second week adding the no expiry on this one. We used these 2 days of these tickets last March and plan to use a few days over the next few years to spread out the time in the parks.

From what I've read Free Dinning isn't really free as you have to purchase room and tickets at full price. You might do better doing a DVC split stay and just add Dinning for a portion of your stay. If you plan on staying in a 1 bedroom or larger you will have the option of cooking. Let me tell you from experience after about 7 days of dinning on nothing but Disney menus you might get a little tired of it and wish for a home cooked meal. What you might be saving by cooking will more than likely pay for the extras you get with the premium dinning. JMTC
