Help with the AP site

Hi all, we are AP holders and are thinking of a quick trip to the fort in the beginning of July. I would like to add the dinning plan to make it simple,as we would be flying in. I can not get the AP site to allow me to enter the dinning plan and not any passes. Has anyone ever done this with a tent site. Would you have to stay at least 3 nights. Also would it be unbearble to stay in a tent with out AC at night. We are doing Southwest (so we could each bring 2 suitcases) so we would have room for a small fan.

Actually AP holders can purchase the dining plan with an AP rate, but I think you have to do it over the phone.
