Hi all! I would like to use Chicken broth in my stuffing instead of butter, how much do I use? The recipe calls for 1 and a half cups of water and 4 tablespoons of butter, so should I just use 4 tbsps of broth? Help!

I thought you used chicken broth in place of the water. Yikes. I'm looking forward to see what others respond.

I would add all broth instead of the water and use 2 cups...or if you think it would be too much salt, use 1 cup water, 1 broth. See the consistency after you mix it and add more accordingly.

I would just substitute the water with the chicken broth and continue on with the rest of the ingredients that are called for..:)

The issue is, I do not have enough butter. Someone in my home (the only other person that lives here) put an empty box of butter back in the fridge, leading me to think we had plenty, when in fact we do not. lol Boys!

Wish me luck!

You can use olive oil in place of butter, but chicken broth is a replacement for water, not butter.

i use orange juice instead of water, but you have to have the butter...in my book 4 T not enough.....lol

It turned out great! I used 2 c water, and 1 & 1/2 cups broth, no butter. It was delish :)

Thank you so much for caring! And they all lived happily ever after....with yummy stuffing...

I wish I could make that statement. My family has asked me to make stovetop from now on, just can't get the stuffing to come out right no matter what I do.:confused3

I have never put butter in my dressing in my life, nor have I ever known anyone that does that.

Well Stove Top isn't so bad if you can't get the hang of the other.. I'd rather have Stove Top than none! :goodvibes

I know I am late but we only use butter when cooking the onions and celery on the stove top. Not sure why you would need butter in the stuffing as well. We add bread to the onions and celery as well as poultry seasoning and water.
