Help with some Disney Magic!

On our last trip we had a great experience with tigger at breakfast and this trip he is the only character my son wants to meet becasue of last time. I need Tigger to "remember" how he interacted with my son last time and be equally over the top this time! How to I get word to Tigger of what I need to happen? Help me pull off some Disney Magic please!

We kinda had good luck one year with something similar. Chip and Dale were so excited to see my daughter and she adamantly believes they remember her from the last visit.

On our last trip to disney we had a LATE breakfast at Crystal Palace with our then 9month old and 3 year old. The 9 month old melted down in the resturant and made for a very unplesent meal for mom and dad and I'm sure anyone around us till he finally went to sleep in my arms. I'm convinced that the Tigger and Piglet felt sorry for us becasue as the resturant cleared out to prepare for lunch they came to our table and put on a wonderful show for my then 3 year old. Tigger flipped forks and bounced my son and tigger and piglet smashed my son between them. Over all a highlight of our trip! Fast foward to present and I'm planning our trip back to disney, our then then 3 year old will be 7 on this trip and has declared that he doesn't want to meet any charcaters at disney becasue they are all for little kids except Tigger! I know he only wants to meet Tigger becausue of the great time he had on our last trip! I'm concerend that when we show up for our LATE breakfast at crystal palace again this time that we will get the standard hug and wave and photo op then Tigger will move on to the next table. If that happens my 7 year old will be crushed! I need Tigger to "remember" how he interacted with my son last time and be equally over the top this time! How to I get word to Tigger of what I need to happen? Help me pull off some Disney Magic please!

In all likelihood, you can't pull this off, at least I would hope not. Your child is not the only one in the restaurant, and you shouldn't expect special treatment for him based on what happened on your last trip.

You received some "Disney Magic" last time - you should be happy with that, and you should start setting your son's expectations now.

I don't want to burst your bubble, but I will. It simply isn't going to happen unless you're able to sweet talk the character attendant into requesting Tigger do a repeat performance, and the chances of that aren't all that great because the kid at the next table over will be expecting the same level of interaction. I think you'd be better off going to see the Tigger in Christopher Robin's room in the UK pavilion. My daughter has met him there several times and he's always been very quirky and interactive.

You do realize that Tigger isn't going to remember either your son or the interaction he had, right? I highly doubt its the same person inside the suit. I agree that if your DS wants to meet him it might be better to put him in an entirely different context. The Epcot M&G would be ideal for that.

But Disney Magic is just that, Disney Magic - you can't order it, demand it, pay for it or even help it along. It just happens....which it did for you.
I would focus on trying to create new memories. If there are expectations tied with the Crystal Palace that may lead to disappointment, then I would re-direct it to a different experience. Skip CP and book a different Dining experience..maybe Tusker House at AK or maybe Chef Mickeys.

I agree -- try a different character dining this time for a new magical experience. We had a breakfast with Pocahontas when my daughter was 9 and we tried to ask the attendant to bring her and John Smith together for a picture (my daughter loved that movie at the time). Well you would think I had asked for a United Nations intervention! The woman playing Pocahontas had such awful attitude about the whole thing that it really affected my daughter and she was upset the rest of the day. I wrote a letter of complaint. I have a feeling we weren't the only ones because less than a year later, they closed that character breakfast.

So we tried to make a special and memorable experience for my daughter and it backfired. Let the magic happen as it does and don't force it -- it could become a huge disappointment if the character isn't in the mood or doesn't get it right.

Or, let the magic happen as it does and don't force it because asking characters to do something that is outside of their normal "show" is just wrong.

Characters have a lot of people to see and they can't stop and make time only for one child. I agree with those who said that you got some nice attention before but let it go at that.

You stated that your youngest threw a tantrum that made an "unpleasant meal" for those around you, until he "finally went asleep". ...Not sure why you didn't immediately leave the room with your younger child when the tantrum started, in order to prevent other guests from having to listen to your baby's tantrum. Not very considerate of the other guests
Anyway, what you are asking for is not likely to happen, but that doesn't mean your son can't have a great trip and make new memories.
It may help to tell him prior to the meal that Tigger only has time for a quick picture today, because there are lots and lots of children waiting to see him, so he cannot hang out with us like he did last time.

He doens't have to spend 5 minutes plus, it can still be a 1 minute interaction and he can "remember" your son. Try and grab the character handler before they come to the table and explain that your son loves Tigger after he met him on a previous trip. Hopefully at the veryy least Tigger will point and "remember" him. Does no harm to ask at least.

If your here to teach lessons that end up making your kids jadded and not believing in the magic at all your doing something wrong in my opinion. Disney should be a place for magic and happiness not tears and crushed dreams because "life isnt fair". ok off my soap box....

ok back on toping: While I agree that you might not be able to pull this off as you were orginally envisioning at a meal. You might be able to pull it off at a standard meet and greet like has been suggested in Christopher Robin's room. There your kid can get the one on one time without taking anything away from the other kids who also are there for a magical experience.

The OP doesn't want Tigger to just "remember" her son. She's edited her post, but her original request is that Tigger not only remember her son, but provide the same kind of attention that was provided four years ago.
