We are doing WDW after our cruise on 9/10, 11, and 12. I don't think we will have time before our flight on the 13th to do a park. DME will pick us up at 11am.

I am trying to figure out our park days. Priorities are night at AK *IF* ROL is ready to go by then. Any opinions on if I should even bother planning around this? Other priority is seeing Wishes in the park on a non party night. Also trying to do the party on the 11th.

The other question is since that is a slow time of year, do I need to follow the recommended parks info from the various sites? If it isn't necessary I can work out our days pretty well. Thoughts?

I still generally follow the Recommended Park because even in a slow time, if the non-recommended park is drawing the majority of guests at WDW, the it will still be crowded. The key thing is to read WHY the parks are ranked as they are. If it simply has to do with EMH being the only reason to avoid, I find there is some room to maneuver there (especially if you are onsite and can use the EMH).

I certainly HOPE RoL is ready by September!

Ok, thanks! So on the 10th it says avoid AK b/c of AM EMH. I was thinking that is the perfect day for us to do AK. We'd get off the ship and to GF by lunchtime. Head early afternoon to AK til close. Think it will be ok?

So, the thing is, with an overall 4 and only EMH as the qualifier, it will most likely be fine...BUT it will not be as good at AK that day as it would be on other days of the week. Plus, AK is not recommended, but MK is even less recommended for that day. Honestly, it should still be pretty manageable with smart FP plans for the afternoon.

There is no telling how popular RoL is going to be (somewhere between "extremely popular" and "more popular than chocolate"), so plan some time to line up for that one. Keep your eyes open for showtime specifics. It was rumored there would be two or three shows per night. If so, it usually holds true that the later shows will be less crowded.

Knowing what it's like getting of cruise ships on your last day...

I would make that evening your lowest priority day. It will be a busy/full day and you will be very tired by the evening of that day. Save the next two days for your highest priority parks/events.

the show hasn't started because there is technical problems so nobody has actually seen the real thing to be able to say what it's like. The theater is in an interesting spot and visible from the walkway (which is tiny). It doens't really hold that many people so I think if this is a priority, then treat it like one with fastpass or whatever you might need after it's out and reviews of both the show and what the park/theater is liek to get into it are.

disney is almost never slow but you might luck out. I would plan like it's going to be crowded just in case you don't get lucky.

Do you plan on using fastpasses that night if you go to animal kingdom? If so then you can easily schedule fastpasses for your favorite rides their and still have time to do most thing there, because even thought animal kingdom is becoming more of a full day park, most people still consider it a half day park and combining that with emh you should see a larger dip in attendance by the time you get there later in the afternoon.
