Trying to plan a trip during the LEAST popular week in either September or October.

Is there a less crowded time to visit during September or are all the weeks about the same?

Does anyone know what weekends to avoid for October? Looking to avoid Utah/AZ school breaks and Gay Days.

Thanks!!

P.S. Is anything shut down during September aside from HM?

Gay Days are the weekend of October 4 and 5. Utah break is reported to be around 16, 17, 18 of October. IASW will be closed until Nov. I heard they took it down with the holiday overlay still on so they can put it back up for holiday 2008. I've heard from some this time is still busy, but we are planning to go during the week...

Unless you can schedule the last week of October, I would pick September dates. No refurbs are set in stone yet for that time (with the exception of IASW and HM for overlay). October is becoming a much busier month than September with the whole Halloweentime thing.

When is the HM overlay complete (which dates is it usually closed for refurb)?

Thinking about a 2 or 3 day visit sometime from 9/24 - 9/29. Anybody have a link that would tell me what LAST YEAR'S hours were for Sept?

Anybody remember if there were AP hotel deals going on in Sept. 07?

Thanks.

I will be there Oct 20 to the 25th, I am willing to put up with the crowds because I really want to see DL all decorated folr Halloween and let DS do Mickeys Trick or Treat.

I can't say I have ever really been to DL when there weren't crowds but some days were better then others.

We are going Oct 7-11. I took into consideration that scheduled conventions were minimal during that time as well upon the above mentioned events. ;)

Hopefully its not too bad.

Hound,

When is the HM overlay complete?: Sept. 19, 2008 (see below)

When is it usually closed for refurb? The refurb (overlay) starts the day after Labor Day, for 17 days (see below)

:earsboy:

In 2007: The HMH overlay was installed from Sept. 4 (Tues) to Sept. 20 (Thurs), and HMH opened on Sept. 21, 2007.

(They started to install the HMH overlay the day after Labor Day.)

Based on 2007: This year the HMH overlay would be installed from Sept. 2 (Tues) to Sept. 18 (Thurs), and HMH would open on Sept. 19, 2008.

Here's where this information came from:

From the 9/4/07 "DL update" from another forum:

Haunted Mansion closed September 4 – 20 [2007] to install the holiday overlay.

From the 9/24/07 "DL update" from another forum:

Haunted Mansion Holiday opens for the season
The Nightmare Before Christmas Haunted Mansion Holiday opened for the Halloween/Christmas season as scheduled on Friday, September 21 [2007], though reports have it opening around an hour after the park (link). As usual, Fastpass is offered for the Mansion during the holiday overlay. We haven't yet heard of any major changes from last year.

We went last year the weekend after Labor Day (Thurs-Sun) and it was perfect! The weather was great and there were no lines! We literally walked on everything. HM is closed for the overlay during that time, so that's the only downside.

We are thinking/planning alike! Our trip will be the same week and I did my research as well. Can't wait to see DL decked out for Halloween!!
