Help with securing sequins!

So I made shirts that had Minnie Mouse bows on them with the word "Minnie" written with sequines. The bows are red felt which were sequined then sewn onto the shirts while the word "Minnie" was sewn directly on to the shirt. My question is, what I can put on the inside of the shirt to help protect the threading. I was thinking of just using an iron on transfer to "seal" the threads but thought that maybe I could ask you folks for some suggestions.

That is super cute! The only thing I could think to recommend is some iron on (embroidery/applique) stabilizer. You probably wouldn't need very much and you could get a small amount cut off the bolt at joann's or hobby lobby. HobbyLobby has coupons on their website and you might could find a Joann's one as well. HTH! :)

thank you so much for the suggestion. I have some iron on transfers that i goofed up and I was gonna use those but I will check into the other stuff

That is an adorable shirt!

Just be aware that the stabilizer might not be comfortable against the skin depending on how sensitive your daughters are to that type of thing. My kids had commercially made embroidered sweatshirts and t-shirts that they couldn't wear without something under them. I know that not all kids mind, though, so just keep that in mind when you feel what you are buying. I would think that an iron on transfer could get hot, sweaty, sticky next to the skin, too.

I'm sorry that I don't have any suggestions, just warnings of potential problems. I do love the shirt!

I appreciate that especially since we are currently in the middle of a major battle with hives on my DD2 thanks to some Mickey huggies diapers :scared1:
