We are staying a week in a time share off site in October but want to spend atleast 1 night (maybe 2) on Disney Property as the rest of the week is spent at Universal. Is it a lot of trouble to go to for just 1 night? If not,

I am looking at these 4, please help me decide as we have never stayed on site before:

Coronado Springs
Port Orleans (both resorts)
Carribbean Beach

I'm leaning towards Coronado Springs. We would like to spend the evening at Downtown Disney and would like to use the transport system. How big a difference is there between these resorts and the value resorts in relation to room size and qaulity? I originally began my search with the All-Star Sports or Music.

Also, I am looking for reservations on travelocity at 148.95/night, is there a better place to check on rates?

Thanks for all help!

All of Disney's Moderate Resorts are wonderful! I am, however, partiall towards Coronado Springs. It is so beautiful and relaxing!
As far as the difference in room size between All Stars and Moderate Resorts, I find that the Moderate Resorts are much more comfortable. The style is much more elegant (but still has that wonderful Disney Fun feeling) than the All Stars Resorts also. The Resort also offers complimentary bus transportation to all the parks and to DTD.

If you are planning to go to Downtown I would stay at POR or POFQ since they have the boat to downtown.

I've been to all mods except POR and my 2 favs are CSR and POFQ.

CSR has great themeing, pool, etc. but is also a convention resort so has a few additional amenities such as hair salon, gym, etc.

POFQ is closer to DTD and is great in that it is the smallest of the mods and everything is closeby - food court, pool, etc. Also able to share the pools at it's sister resort, POR.

If you have AAA you can save money on the per night rate - just call CRO and see what the AAA rate is for your dates.

Good luck with you decision - HTH!!! :teeth:

You can't go wrong with any of the moderates. Pick the theming you like best.

I've stayed at POR and CSR and from what I remember. The rooms were virtually identical in size. The only difference was the theming.

I probably preferred CSR to POR - but this was largely due to my preference to the southwestern theme at CSR. I thought CSR was especially beautiful at night. The services at the resorts were fairly comparable. Both had a certain charm that I felt was lacking at All Star.

In terms of transportation, as an earlier poster mentioned, POR has a boat to DTD which is a plus. However, I believe they share a bus to the parks with POFQ which could make for crowds (I'm pretty sure they share - but when I stayed there I had a car so I never actually took the bus). CSR definitely has its own bus with 4 stops throughout the resort. Not sure if CSR has a direct bus to DTD though.

I really don't think you can go wrong with any of your choices
