We requested 2 Premium sites in the 1400 loop, arriving 10/29. Our TT is 25' with 1 slide and awning, 3 kids, bikes, etc. My Mom's is 20' foot, just the two of them, but they wanted to set up their shade tent over the picnic table.

For some reason I've been unable to pull up ShanMan's satellite map in order to see the detailed map of each loop and their sites.

We'd rather not have a walking path next to either of us, or a Comfort Station, although closeby would be nice :)

Which two 1400 sites should we request ??? Anyone stayed in 1400 lately?

Thanks so much. We are getting excited as the time for our trip will be here before we know it!!!

Really, there is no guarantee that you will get the sites that you request.
You are going on Halloween.
It all depends on how busy it is and the movement of guest checking in and out.
You seem to have alot of variables in your wishes. I would suggest looking at the map and see what looks best for you. That way when you check in you will have some idea where you would like to be and maybe something can be worked out.
And hey at that point you are at Fort Wilderness. Enjoy!

Sorry to disappoint you but, your site will most likely be assigned without your consent 4-5 days before you arrive. FtW site assignors will try to get you in the loop you requested, but there are no guarantees on that, either. The Fort is usually booked full over Halloween. Don't be surprised or disappointed if your two parties are not next to each other, either.

If you haven't done so, call CRO back and tell them you want to be on 1400, not next to the comfort station (that's where the walking path is to the movie theater), and ask them to link your ressie to your parent's ressie. Have both reservation numbers at the ready so they can link them. That will somewhat guarantee a close proximity to one another.

Thanks for the response.

Yes, I have read that it is crowded on Halloween and aware that there are no guarantees. Was just trying to get an idea of the layout of that loop. Our reservations are currently linked..hopefully we will be near each other, wherever we end up.

Thanks for your time.

No problems! I'm here to help. :thumbsup2 Have a "Howdy Folks, Fun Time" at the Fort, and be prepared for LOTS of trick or treater's if you are hanging around the campground on Halloween night.

Yes, we were planning on trick-or-treating at the Fort. Do you think there is enough to do to hang out at the Fort all day? We recevied our card in the mail last week with the schedule for 10/30 and 10/31. We were originally going to do one of the parks on 10/31, but just head back early,....now thinking we may just have a Fort day and take in all the activities there.

Thoughts?

I love carving a pumpkin Halloween day for the contest at the Campfire. Haven't won yet... there's a few that are insanely crazy cool.

For the best results for getting two sites next to each other, is A) check in as early as possible, B) you and your parents go into the building to check in together. Rather than checking in at the "toll booth" desk. When you check in at the outside desk, the number is already assigned to your reservation. When you go inside, the people in the back room can change your preassigned number to something available.

Interesting! I did not know that.
