DH and I have uverse. We have u400 with 3 dvr boxes, all movie channels are included in this package. We also have one of the fastest Internet speeds and we pay around $130 a month. I know other providers in our area don't work this way but I can call uverse anytime and get a great deal. I was paying $150 for U200, slowest Internet and no movies. I called to add a showtime promo deal and they loaded me up with everything else for less then I was paying plus mailed me. $50 gift card. The current price expires in a year but I've had uverse for over 5 years and never had an issue getting them to modify my package for maximum savings.
We also have a bluray player that streams my amazon prime, hulu plus and Netflix (among others). Most shows can be watched with these but we like sports and for that reason alone we have not wiped out our cable. I know someone who has been cable free for a year and she still gets to watch all of her shows through hulu and the network websites.
