Has anyone looked at the menus for the different Disney Resorts at all? My fiance and I had heard the menus had been changed at each hotel a bit since our last visit, and we took a look at the menus and noticed that if you are a get up in the morning, grab a quick meal, sit down and eat it quickly, and then go person, that most resorts don't really cater to that very much. Particularly the deluxe resorts b/c their breakfast places are mainly sit down restaurants, whereas my fiance and I like the cafeteria style foods for breakfast.

Anyway heres our dilemma, by looking at the breakfast menus that is what we have perceived. BUT, is that accurate or are we misreading that? Because the get up and go thing is VERY important to us, since we only eat breakfast at our hotel.

Another problem, I have a VERY unusual food allergy and I have found by looking at the menus, that only the All Star Resorts offer get up and go food that I am not allergic to. To me that seems really wierd b/c you would think that the deluxe resorts would offer the greatest variety of foods, but it seems that the All Stars do more so than the deluxe resorts, or than even the moderate resorts.

So basically, it looks like the only place where we could stay and where I could have more than one option for breakfast each morning would be the All Star Resorts. ANd I certainly dont want to stay some place where I have to eat the same thing every morning. Has anyone else noticed the wierd food quirk at Disney? thanks a bunch!

CBR has a grab and go market that sells a lot of food depending on the time of day.

Tell us where you would like to stay and I am sure others can offer suggestions.

My husband and I don't want to lose time by sitting for breakfast so we are going to stop at the store on our way in and get muffins, breakfast bars, fruit etc... to take to eat for breakfast each day. I know it won't be a hot breakfast but that is not important to us. We will get a collapsible cooler before we go and use that to store some of it. Also... it will save us money.

lol sorry about that! The Caribbean Beach and Animal Kingdom and the All Stars were what we were looking at. Weve been to most of the resorts at Disney already, but not to the Animal Kingdom. And we were definately taking the market into account, but we need not a small breakfast b/c I have really low blood sugar as well (aka breakfast is my biggest meal of the day), and I am allergic to most of the things at the market :(

Were willing to consider other resorts as well.

Try listing the types of foods you can eat - and do eat at home for breakfast. With that information, maybe someone can help.

If you are allergic to wheat or flour I could see how you may have problems getting a large filling breakfast otherwise all the food courts should have something for you. I found that many times the food courts had items other than what was listed on website menus, you just had to ask.

Anyway - my suggestion, list what you do eat, and see if anyone can give you a resaurant that serves it.

AKL does offer a quick breakfast. Stayed there a few years ago and ate there several times - fairly good as I recall. Here's the info from Allearsnet.com:

http://www.allearsnet.com/menu/menu_mara.htm

Also, just stayed at the Poly and CR spring break and both offer 24 hour grab and go. Breakfast ranged from breakfast sandwiches, to pancake platter, to cereal, fruit, muffins, donuts etc.

Like you, we prefer a quick breakfast; we prefer sitdown for a late lunch or early dinner as it's a nice break later in the day. Usually I go and get the breakfast as I'm the first one up and we eat in the room - allows the slow risers to get ready and then eat.

Hey thanks again everyone! I checked out the AKL again, thanks for the link! I don't think anything there is all too safe though :(
Caribbean I called them and got some more info. They seem to be the next best bet as far as the resorts go.

I am allergic to citric acid. Its one of the top preservatives in the word, and found in tomatos, oranges, lemons, limes, grapefruits, etc.

So basically, its just hit or miss for the foods. I have been to the All Star quite recently so am 100% sure that those foods are safe having already have eaten them... Thanks again everyone! We are going to give Disney a call and try to find out more info.

Disney cooks/chefs are VERY accomadating. You should talk to them. I'm sure they will cook you foods you can eat!::yes::

Look into Pop Century- it's newer than the all stars but the food area is very similar- we loved staying there.

By the way, the food at AKL is delicious, but they have some exotic flavors and I would imagine it could be a dangerous place for you.

You might want to browse over at the disAbility
board, or ask the question there. You should be able to call the places you want to eat and find out if there is food that
is safe for you to eat. If not, sometimes they can prepare special options for you. I've read posts where people couldn't have certain things, and the chefs even got special things in so
that the person could eat. Now, some of this was occuring in the theme parks at the sit down restaraunts.
I'm not sure if that is possible at the more fast food type places,
since the food is kind of pre-prepared and they have limited selections.

Your best bet is to call before the trip, and see what kind
of arrangements can be made.
