Note from Mom (JulieWent): This was written by my son who is now 12. We took him on his first Universal trip several years ago, and he fell in love with it. Be ready to be dragged around if your son likes thrill rides (see above). I spend a lot more time being dangled upside down and moving backwards at Universal than I do at Disney, but DS thinks it's the best thing in the world. Hope you all have a spectacular birthday trip, and let us know if you have questions.

Which hotel are you staying at? You will have no problem seeing everything several times. Make sure you see all the shows. Some of them are tucked away and you can miss them!!!

Thanks so much!!! It is nice to get someone close to my son's age opinion. Thanks so much for taking the time to answer:hippie: :worship: :flower3: We are very big dessert foodies, any suggestions?

we will make sure to take in the shows as well.

If you go to Hard Rock Cafe, have a milkshake.
If you go to Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville, have a chocolate hurricane.

My dad LOVES the Cinnabon shop in Islands of Adventure's Port of Entry, which he calls an "attraction."

We had good desserts at Mythos once, but it took at least and hour.

MummyAW100-- You are fantasic!! Much better than a travel agent:cool1: . My son LOVES milkshakes. any other great tips for our trip??popcorn:: ;) Thanks, Kim

one day at ioa start clockwise: hulk, spiderman, etc. and one day start with dueling dragons. if you get there at opening you will be able to be one of the first ones on duling dragons. have each of your boys ride the front row on the opposite train. getting there early you can be sure of getting on at the same time. they will love it when they can see eachother coming to the part where it looks like they will crash. i can guarantee they will be talking about that ride for a long time.
