we are starting to plan a celebration trip for next yr--I will be done with my cancer follow ups!!!!

we are thinking of the mediterain from Barcelona for 7 nights

this will be on the magic we have never been on that ship so Im looking first of all what are the good rooms to look for

it will just be my DH and me we like towards the back closer to the buffet and pool areas

we have been on the dream and fantasy however

either balcony or OV leaning more towards balcony if not too expensive

so I need help, advice and tips on which room to pick and what makes this a good room

also help with planning port adventures for this cruise

also when does disney open up the dates and prices for this cruise-for next yr--I noticed that for this cruise there sailings until Sept of16

let the advice roll I really need alot of help this this one

thanks all

We were in a Cat 6A on the Magic for the 11-night Norway/Iceland/Scotland cruise last year and it was really nice. We were on deck 6, but I believe there are some on deck 7 as well (maybe deck 5?). Those staterooms are aft in the ship, so a really quick climb of the stairs or elevator ride to the buffet and pool area. It was also very quiet back there with very little foot traffic. I highly recommend this category!

We also did 12 day Mediterranean in a deck 6 veranda midship. The veranda was great for us on our July trip in 2010 with every day being sunny and perfect temps. We did private tours with others from our meet thread, most were spectacular, Pisa was not very exciting for us. We also did Greek Isles with a veranda but for the Baltic we just had Ocean View, would not have spent much time on it anyway.

We arrived in Barcelona 2 days early and toured the city pre cruise, very glad we did. Volcano ended up cancelling and delaying several flights and a pretty large number of people missed the ship in Barcelona and had to catch us at our first port after a great sea day.

Did a 7 night from Barcelona year before last and it is a great cruise. We booked an ocean view and were upgraded to a veranda. We didn't end up using the veranda that much as the cruise is very port centric. We left the ship early each day on excursions and return late. of course your mileage may vary.

Best tip I can offer is to plan on flying into Barcelona at least two days before the cruise. American ended up canceling a connecting flight and we missed our flight out of JFK. The cushion of an extra day meant we still made the ship. It was quite stressful even having the cushion of an extra day to get there.

We are very interested in seeing the Greek isles! What does Disney call this cruise and where does it usually start? And end? How many days? Aloha, Karen
