We (myself, husband and 7 yo son) are arriving in 9 days at CBR and we have the Pirate Water View Room reserved. By looking at the resort map, it would seem that Bldg 35 is the closest to the food court. Is this correct? I want to call in a Bldg request ASAP, but don't want to make the wrong request. Thanks!!

Pirate rooms are in the Trinadad South section. Furthest away from the main building. We just stayed there in Sept. the room was cool but how far we were for paying so much extra for a specialty room really annoyed me. So be aware it's a hike.

I had read it was the furthest away, but decided my son would like it better...hopefully I haven't made the wrong choice!!! Do they have internal buses that take you to the food court? If so, are they few and far between?

Buildings 34 may be a bit closer but I don't know if there are any water views in that building. Keep in mind that 36 is closest to the bus stop and a pool is between builings 36 and 37. Enjoy your stay at CBR

That was it bought too. They freaked out with excitement t when they saw the room!!! Made it worth it! The do have internal bussing but it took so long to wait for one that it was just easier to walk then sit at the bus stop. But it is there to use!

I thought that was the internal bus for, to take folks who are remote from the food court. I'm not sure how often does the internal bus get around or is it continuously just like the park buses?

The internal bus does just keep making the loop in the resort but from the Pirate Rooms you will need to make almost the entire loop before you get to the food court as it does stop at every bus stop. The ride from the food court to your room will be much shorter, one maybe 2 stops before you get back to your room.

I think you should try it at least once but we found it wasnt worth the extra cost but the concept is neat. The building is just so far away and the rooms seemed a bit worn to me..

I dont understand why they made these preferred room so far away? Just for the Trinidad name?

We stayed in room 3405, a corner room, and we loved it. We were a 2 minute walk from the bus stop and a 10 minute walk from the food court. I hear people complain about how far it is from everything all the time, but is a 10 minute walk that big of a deal, really? And it's a very pretty walk along the lake, if we timed it right we'd be walking by when they were breaking out the marshmallows for toasting.

I guess when your so use to staying a bit closer to the main buildings it does make a difference. I don't mind walking, I go to the gym 5 days a week but during a Wdw vacation you walk so much as it is that I'd rather stay somewhere where no matter where your room is the walk isn't that bad especially in the rain.

That being said I thought the main pool, lake and marina were very nice but it's just not for me. Then again a lot of ppl think Poly is too dark or GF is too fancy..

We stayed there 2 years ago. It's not bad. The walk never took us more than 5-7 minutes. I have rheumatoid arthritis with bad knees and ankles and my son with autism stops to stare at everything, and it never took us more than 7 minutes. It's a beautiful walk. Don't regret it, the Pirate room is fun. My son LOVED it!

I too thought for the extra money you are paying that the buildings were in the worst location of the resort. I haven't found anyone justify the reasons? Couldn't they have made it closer? And the other fact is there are NO other rooms in Trinidad South besides Pirate Themed. So if a family is traveling together in a standard room they have to be across the street in Trinidad North.

I think maybe they put the Pirate rooms there to encourage people to stay in Trinidad South. Because to be honest, the location of those buildings stinks!

It had other benefits. When we were there, it was not crowded. We went 2 days without seeing anyone other than cleaning staff at our building. Our standard view room opened to a little courtyard. Granted it was the smoking section, but no one was there. Tables, and benches covered with umbrellas. Parking was so close.

We are at AKL in August but originally had a Royal Guest room at POR booked. It's far from the main building and a hike to the bus stop if you look at it that way. We look at it as a chance to walk around and explore the resort. The theming makes it like a vacation within a vacation. I like having the chance to see more than a bus stop, a food court and a pool. I can stay home and go to the mall for that.
