Decided this year to bake pies for the church for Thanksgiving. The prob is that the pies can't go in the fridge and that's the only kind that I know how to make. Anyone have a good recipe for pies that can sit out for awhile that can go with Thanksgiving dinner?

Thanks!

What do you mean by sit out for a while. We had our church feast yesterday and most of the pies were not refridgerated for 2-3 hours. They were pumpkin, apple, cherry, peach......For pumpkin I used Libby's easy pumpkin pie filling. For Cherry I buy 2 cans of Cherry pie filling. Apple I make from scratch, there are many recipes. I don't make peach. Other pies you can make are pecan and lemon meringue.

Most double crust pies can sit out for several hours, I think only cream pies need to be kept constantly cold.

Did you ask this question on the cooking board? Lots of experts over there, bet they could help you out.

I'd think cherry, blueberry and pecan pies are some that don't need to be refrigerated.:) You could always get a cooler and put them in there though if you're not sure.

I love pies.:)
