Help with my disney experience please!

Let me start by saying I'm not a disney newbie but I'm confused with this whole 'my disney experience'. I have an account that I used two years ago to book dining reservations but really didn't know what I was doing then and I'm even more confused now.

So far, I booked our room thru orbitz and managed to link it to MDX. This rm is for me, my hubby, and 3 kids at CBR. All looks good with that.

Now, I just booked a separate room at CBR for my parents (who don't do computers) thru orbitz. I will be doing our dining and fp+ for all 7 of us so I need them linked to us. Currently, when I sign in to MDX, my parents are listed on my account from two years ago. Should I just link their room reservation up to my account and do everything together? Or do they need their own MDX account with their room ressie and then we link those together somehow? What is the best way to handle this? Will it even let me put in two different room ressies for the same dates?

You should be able to link them fine. If I remember correctly last year, I "invited" my parents to MDE but they never actually accepted or used it. I just planned everything for them.

You can put in room dates for two different places for the same dates....HOWEVER....you may run into some MB issues. You probably won't, assuming there are no names that are on both reservations. But this last trip, we went with my parents and stayed at FW...and took one night away at POR while my parents watched our son and we had a night off. So technically we were on both the POR and FW reservations. We got two different MBs and they had trouble linking our POR reservations to our main MBs, even at the front desk. I think in the end we just said we were fine with using our grey MBs for that one day to get in and out of our rooms, because the hassle and time wasn't going to be worth it. (Though they were very helpful and gracious.) I don't think that will be a problem for you, but just be aware of it!

Thanks! I think I've got it figured out. I swear Disney makes it harder every year to plan a trip! just when I'm comfortable planning a trip, they go and change things, lol!

I feel ya....I consider myself pretty computer literate, but some of the MDE is NOT ideal. I had to make at least two phone calls to them last year just because of that double night booking at POR and FW. They were helpful but it was messy.
