Hi all...

Taking my DD for her 9th b'day...and are having dinner at the castle that night...this is our first trip alone together but we are pretty seasoned Dissers...
Any special dining suggestions for us?

As soon as the Dessert party opens I will book that too but otherwise I'm stumped.

I feel like we always go the same places and I don't want to overbook us. Because there are only 2 of us I didn't know if I wanted to make too many ressies or shoot from the hip...HELP???????

BTW...we will be staying at BCV so a Cape May Breakfast will happen too.

So funny this sounds just like me and DD who will also be turning 9. When are you planning your trip for. I think that plays a big part in making dining decisions. We are not going until November/December, so it will be cooler. I am hoping for free QS and then I am hoping to upgrade to Dlx. It will be the last trip that DD will be a disney kid after that the dining plan except maybe QSDP doesn't make any sense as she eats very little. She does love going out to eat though and I think she would love to get dressed up a little and try some of the signature dining locations. I also am planning on trying Hoop De Doo Revue becuase it just sounds like a lot of fun! Planning on Flying Fish, Narcoosees, Brown Derby fantasmic package and The Castle. We always did Tusker for an early breakfast, but thinking of trying an early Cape May breakfast too. My DD has always LOVED Tepan Edo too! Was thinking of trying the Wave this time around, but believe it will end up being The Plaza!

I'm taking DD for her 9th birthday in March. Its a surprise trip so I haven't been able to go over the details with her. But we talk Disney all the time and so I've gotten some ideas that way.

It's going to be busy when we go so I'm not planning any signature meals that will take a lot of time. I am planning dinners in the parks though. We rarely do that on our family trips becuase DH doesn't really care about going back to the parks in the evening. But DD and I do like to.

I'm also using this opportunity to try some new things that I don't think DH would really care about but that I think DD will like. We're going to do dinner at Sci-Fi one night, we're going to try Tony's, and we're doing a late breakfast buffet almost every day. DD and I both love the breakfast buffet but DH doesn't. We'll hit the parks early and then take a break with a late breakfast before heading on to whatever we're going to do next.

We're not doing HDDR this time because it is a favorite of DH. The HDDR is so much fun though and might be one to think about.

I debated on doing no ADR's and just making our plans for our days as we go, but I decided that it was going to be much more crowded then we are used to and the TS meals would provide us a chance to relax.

Single Disney loving mom here -- my DD and I have been to the World and the Land a number of times when it was just the two of us and it has been awesome!

Agree with a PP that it would be fun for you to try some meals that you might not get to normally do if it wasn't a girls only trip. My DD LOVED the tea at the Grand Floridian when she was 9 and still does (we are booked there in a couple of weeks). Fun to dress up (or not) and it has a really cute children's tea option.

We also loved doing Hoop together, they have some really nice tables for two and the show is a stitch.

Doing the Akershus Princess breakfast used to be a big hit too although now at 12 she has informed me that she has outgrown the princesses -- sigh.

Enjoy and have fun!

Its nice to hear I'm not the only one who is soooo excited to go alone with DD. We are going at the end of June so I'm expecting high crows and heat...we're used to the summer though. DD wants to do one fancy dinner so I'm thinking of the Cali Grill. We're planning on 2 days at the water parks and evenings and the other 2 days in the parks. I'm hesitant to book meals on the waterpark days though.

THe Hoop Dee Do is awesome, but I want a break I think this time. I don't want to over schedule us.
