Help with MK strategy

With all of the posts about the crowds over Presidents’ Day weekend I’m get a little concerned about our trip to the MK Sunday of Memorial Day weekend. It is the only day we can go, we are staying on-site so I will be able to get fastpasses at 60 days out. It is an EMM day (I was unable to convince my group to pay for it) but o do have a PPO at BOG for 8:05. I plan to be getting into the park as early as I can. Knowing all that please look at my strategy and let me know what you think:

RD 7DMT (hopefully we will also have backup FP)
Winnie the Pooh
Ariel
Haunted mansion
Thunder railroad mountain (FP)
Splash mountain (FP)
Lunch
Tom Sawyer island
Pirates of the Caribbean
Jungle cruise (hopefully with FP #4)
Dumbo
Barnstormer
Buzz (FP#5)
Space mountain

The plan is that at RD we would do 7DMT but if the line is long even with getting out of BOG and into line then we would skip that and do Winnie the Pooh, Ariel, and have to backtrack for 7DMT - Anyway does this look like a logical plan? We will do RD to close so we will be there all day. Hence the break during the main part of the day after lunch to Tom sawyers island... opinions and suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Also, I know the main way to solve this would be to change dates, unfortunately that is not an option due to schedules or I’d move them immediately.

Looks good. I don't think that Memorial Day is typically as bad as some of the other holidays.

I would suggest that you switch JC and PotC and plan to do Jungle Cruise after TSI. That gives you time while on TSI to refresh for it. It's pretty easy to get but the hardest of the afternoon rides you have. It's good to have some time to spend on it (especially if it does end up being busy). Pirates is pretty easy and you should be able to get FPs for everything else in your afternoon plan with very little effort. Do you need an FP for Dumbo … no. But when it's busy, it will still save you 20-30 minutes. You can try to refresh for Space as well. It's a little harder to get than the others in your plan but a lot of people are able to get it so it's definitely worth trying. Basically I would say to try to refresh for everything and get a sense of what is coming up for you. Make game day calls from there. But going in your plan makes sense to me.

:thanks: I needed the reassurance that I wasn’t completely off with my plan. And thank you for the suggestions! This is a big help!

Another option comes to mind. Space is going to be a pretty long wait in the afternoon. If you try refreshing for space earlier in the afternoon and don't have good luck, you could forgo the FPs at dumbo, etc so you can grab a space that's further out in time. Then you could but that first and then grab a Buzz right after it since Buzz is pretty easy.

With the new setup at Dumbo, I wouldn't fast pass it. My Grandtinker loved playing there as she waited for her ride. WDW did a great job there with planning.

I sort of want to hit it around like 3:30 when it is hot out and I want to sit in the AC and let my kids run around and play. The last time we were there they gave us the buzzer and after like 40 min (when I was actually ready to get moving again) I asked how much longer my wait was... only to find out there was no wait! But I know cooling off inside was a great use of time. That said if there is a wait just to get into the building that is no fun.

there wasn't a wait when we took her. We were only inside for about 15 minutes and had a two ride wait once we went outside as it was loading and then one group ahead of us to load after that then us.

I did go one time where the buzzer was used to actually call you for your spot in line. At the time DD was like 2 and had a meltdown about leaving the jungle gym... we dubbed it the chamber of tears since our DD wasn’t the only kid being dragged out kicking and screaming to get on the ride!
