We will be at MK two back-to-back days in mid January.

Day 1- Me, DH, Son (8) and Daughter (6). Won't arrive until after lunch and will leave before 5. Touring plans has MK at a 4 this day. We will probably only do the Fast Pass rides this day.

Day 2- Me, DH, Son, Daughter and my parents (who enjoy thrill rides). We will RD and be at the park until around 5. Touring plans has MK at a 4 this day.

I'm trying to figure out which FPs to aim for on each day. I think I'd like to save more of the headliners/thrill rides for Day 2 when my parents are here. My kids reach the height requirements for all rides. I have absolutely no desire to get wet in January, so that takes off Splash (anything else get you wet?). We also went to Disneyland a few years ago, and although I know the rides are identical, if there is a "this or that" situation I'd probably go for a ride that was brand new to us.

I'd love to hear what you'd aim for! Thanks!

Odds are pretty low of getting 7DMT (if it is available take it), and if you are not wanting Splash, I'd probably go with Big Thunder, Space Mountain, & Peter Pan. I personally would take those both days and then add additional FP's as we go but if you're not wanting to do that then probably Jungle Cruise, Pirates, & Haunted Mansion would be next priority for FP's. You may want to just split the park in half and make your selections each day based on that but I think those would be the most useful FP's.

Rides are NOT identical. Lets just get that out of the way.

Splash Mountain may or may not be closed for maintenance in January but if its open just toss on ponchos and enjoy.
I don't like getting wet any time of year but love all other aspects of Splash Mountain so I wear a poncho and stay dry and have fun.

POTC CAN get you wet but not like Splash Mountain.
That's really it for MK.

If you're parents are into thrill rides then save Space Mountain, BTMRR, and Splash Mountain for day 2.

Day one I'd probably aim for 7DMT and whatever other 2 you'd like.
If you're not going to RD PP then get that as a FP+.
Many times I FP+ JC because I really like it but the line can get long.

Ack! I edited my post and lost the “not”. Yes, I realize they aren’t identical!

As you have done, pick the rides you want to do.
when it is time to get FPs, I would try to get the ones you want most first and work from there. YOu may be able to get 7DMT on day or day 2 or not at all.
Also try and clump the FPs as close together as you can.
After you use all 3, keep refreshing. You will be surprised what comes up. Grab what ride you like and then you can go back and modify the time. We were able to get a 5 pm Jungle Cruise and then modified it to 2 pm.
Last week, after our first 3, we were able to get Jungle Cruise, BTMRR, Haunted Mansion, PotC, Peter Pan, Space Mountain and Buzz between 1 and 6 pm.
