So on our MK day we have BOG for lunch. Originally had WCC booked for dinner but after hearing that it’s not such a fun experience anymore we canceled. We are staying AKL-no hoppers so we really want to stay in the MK area for dinner. I now have Crystal Palace booked but second guessing it too . I just want a nice sit down break with decent food. Any opinion on Crystal Palace for dinner or better recommendations?

My last trip I had a not-so-great experience at the Crystal Palace. The food was fine, but after 90 minutes we had only met 3 characters. We ended up leaving without meeting Piglet. I like the Plaza, if you aren't looking to meet the Pooh characters.

We enjoy Liberty Tree Tavern for dinner in MK. My 17 yr old son insists on it every trip! Love the family style service and AYCTE Thanksgiving food!

We also go to Liberty Tree every trip. While I've not been to Skippers Canteen yet, the menu doesn't appeal to me.

Another vote for Liberty Tree Tavern. We had a nice relaxing meal there. The food is good and it's quieter than Crystal Palace.

Don't do Skippers Canteen unless you view the menu and think you'll like it. It was a big mistake for us.

Yep. It was an odd one for us too. We both agree that we should try it again to straighten out our weird feeling for the joint.

Another vote for Liberty Tree. Every since the changed the dessert it is a must for us now every trip. Hard to go wrong with Turkey and Stuffing and mashed potatoes

Well another vote for what seems unpopular Skippers Canteen. We love the fact that is different from the other restaurants. To many Disney restaurants look different outside and then inside serve the same tired items. Also I love the Hot & Sour soup at Skippers.

Skippers Canteen or Liberty Tree Tavern within the MK.
Ohana or Kona at the Poly.

If you are into the Pooh characters it is a nice meet and greet and the food for us has been good. If you want even better food then I recommend liberty Tree - It is your thanksgiving meal with 3 types of meats all the sides and you get the ooey gooey toffee cake for dessert, which if you like sweet things is amazing.

Sometimes you are just not in the mood for a character meal and you just want to eat in peace. for me character meals often distract us from the main reason we are there -- to eat!

I would re-consider WCC. A lot of the reports of changes there were pretty over exaggerated as there are just as many, probably more, reports of things still being the same antic wise. I'll be going there myself next month to see for sure though.

If you don't want to WCC, then Skipper's Canteen in MK was a really good experience for us.

Crystal Palace is just okay, IMO, as far as the food goes. Pretty typical buffet, but you have the benefit of characters. If a relaxing meal is what you're after, then probably not the best choice.

LTT is a solid choice, nothing too adventurous food wise but always been good when we've gone.

Last recommendation would be 'Ohana, an easy monorail ride away, although may be a trick ADR to get if you're under 180 days.

We incorporated a visit to Kona Cafe during one of our recent MK days and it was a nice relaxing break. Kona has been a long-time favorite.

And I see you're thinking of a sit-down for dinner, but we had another wonderful, relaxing visit to Columbia Harbour House and the food was as tasty as ever, simple but well-prepared, and sitting upstairs was its usual quiet respite.

Jungle Navigation Co's Skipper's Canteen! Delicious! Unique! Well appointed and themed, but not child-focused. OR The Wave at the Contemporary. Beautiful 10 minute walk, very good food. Great Service.

We love Skipper Canteen - it's our go-to in MK. Liberty Tree would also be a nice respite from the parks for dinner.

If you'd like to leave the park for dinner, consider walking over to CR for the Wave or boating to GF for GF Cafe.

It’s not TS but my fave at MK is Columbia Harbour House. I’m actually upset we have to do CRT on our one MK day on our upcoming trip and won’t have a reason to go to it.

At MK LTT is a must do for us. We also really like The Wave at the Contemporary if you want to take a break from the park. It's just a short monorail ride away!

We have it booked for one of our MK dinners. My DD and DSIL loved it.

I would hop on the boat and go to Grand Floridian Cafe and take the monorail back to MK. Great food and its fast to get there and get back.

I was thinking both of these would offer nice relaxing breaks.

OP- I like CP for a dinner break in the MK or LTT. I don't find either of them particularly relaxing though, they are pretty busy!
