Help with MGM

We will be in MGM on Thurs, 9/1. Is it possible to watch the Stars & Motor Cars Parade at 5pm, go to CM's for a PS at 6:40pm & then back to MGM for Fantasmic at 8:30pm???

Will we be able to get back into MGM with no problems?? And how is the best way to travel from MGM to CM's???

Do you mean Chef Mickey's? If so, the only direct way to get from MGM to the Contemporary on Disney transportation is via bus, which can mean waits of up to 20 minutes on each end.

Unless everything moves perfectly, and you get seated right at 6:40, you are going to be cutting it way close. Especially because you need to get to Fantasmic! well before 8:30 - it's not unusual for them to close the line off by 8:10 or 8:15, or earlier if it's busy, and unless you are there by 8 you may have to stand.

If I was going to try this, I'd use a taxi just so I'd have more control - but you'd have to hit everything perfectly to do it. Remember, a 6:40 PS doesn't mean you will be seated right at 6:40. If you are, you'd have to spend no more than a half-hour eating so you could get back to MGM in time to get in line.

If you are set on doing both the parade and Fantasmic!, I'd skip Chef Mickey's that night. You are just going to be running, running, running. I wish I could be more encouraging, but you are going from one end of the resort and it's difficult on such a tight time schedule. I'd hate for you to miss Fantasmic! because you didn't get seated until 7:15 or you missed a bus and had to wait.

Good luck in any case! Maybe you can schedule Chef Mickey's for another night?

I think you'd make it from Stars and Motor Cars to Chef Mickey's in time, but I don't think you'd make it in time from Chef Mickey's back to Fantasmic. Especially if you want a decent seat. JMHO.

Not even if you were all marathon runners, fast eaters, and all the wishes in the world hit you on your head!!!

Even if you 'just made" it to Chef Mickeys, ate fast & then again back to "Fantasmic"..you would be wiped/stressed out.

Like the previous poster said....I would cut out Chef Mickeys for that night!

The only possible way would be if you got seated immediately and stayed no longer than one hour. You could then grab a taxi outside the CR to the Studios. However, as everyone else is saying this would make for too much rushing and you would not enjoy Chef Mickey's. I would suggest you redo your plans. If you have problems with getting another reservation for Chef Mickey's keep the one you have and do Fantasmic another night.

If you already have your Chef Mickey PS for that night, I would do Epcot or MK that day. If you have park hoppers, you could do the MGM parade, go to Chef Mickey's and then go to MK or Epcot afterwards. Epcots fireworks are at 9 p.m., so you wouldn't be rushed. To go back and forth from MGM to CR to MGM means you will be spending at least an hour on a bus that evening (plus returning to your hotel later) and who knows how much time waiting for busses.

The biggest problem with doing Fantasmic after Chef Mickey's is there's a very good chance that you won't be seated at CMs until 7 p.m. or after. Chef Mickey's is fun and you don't want to have to rush.
