Help with Meal Plan Point System

I'm a novice -- could someone please point me to a site that will explain how points are used with the meal plan? I've already made reservations for several character dinners, but I want to be sure I don't "overspend" with points.

Go to the restraunt forum. There is a post that pretty much explains the whole points system. I was having a hard time figuring it out myself, so I called disney and asked how many points each res I had made was. I had a couple that required 2 TSC so I cancelled them.
