We are heading to the world in early December - me, my mom, and my 20 month old baby. We are staying in a two bedroom at the Wilderness Lodge villas. However, we are spending one night at the All Star Movies before we move over there. (We didn't want to pay for the VWL that night, since it is a weekend night and the point rental was way more expensive.) So, we will be arriving at ASM around 3pm and then moving to the VWL the next morning.

How does luggage work at the All Stars? We will arrive by towncar. Will there anybody to help with bags and take them to our room for us? Or will be on our own? I can't even imagine the horror of dealing with my mom, my baby, all the extra luggage that comes with a baby, etc.

So, if there is no bell services at the All Stars, I may switch to a moderate.

Can anybody give me the scoop?

We've stayed at the All Stars before, but that was when it was just me and DH and one carry-on each. Ahhh . . . I remember those days. ;) So, I never really paid any attention to the luggage assistance situation.

I've stayed at the all stars twice, the first was sports the second was movies. When we stayed at Sports our room was ready very early (like 9am) so we just took our stuff to our room. The 2nd our room wasn't ready yet , so we checked our luggage and went to the parks. By the time we got back our luggage was waiting for us.

I've seen CMs transporting luggage for guests, so I don't see you having a problem. And from what I remember they have carts that you can use, so you can just pile all your stuff in there if need be.

Hope this helped.

When you pull up in the Town car someone will rush over with a cart to grab your luggage for you. They will gladly hold your luggage and transport it to your room if it is not ready and you want to wander.

The morning we transferred from ASMo to the Dolphin, we spoke to the front desk and we simply left our luggage in the room, it showed up at the Dolphin when we checked in later. Now that was about 5 years ago, so you should confirm the luggage swap when you check in but I am willing to bet that Disney will make this as painless as possible.

Value Resorts do not have an on-demand Bell Services. Instead, they have Luggage Assistance, which is more of a scheduled service. It is also a non-tipped position. Tipping is neither expected nor neccessary, however, they can accept tips if you wish.

When you arrive at Movies, drop your luggage off with Luggage Assistance. They will deliver your bags to your room within an hour of it becoming available. You do not need to be in the room for them to deliver the bags.

That night, give Luggage Assistance a call, and set up an appointment for your bags to be transferred over to the Wilderness Lodge. You do not need to be in the room for them to be picked up. They will be transported to Wilderness Lodge between 2-4pm. When you check in, you will need to give Bell Services a call to get your bags. You will need to be in the room for Bell Services, since they are an on-demand tipped position/

Thanks! That's exactly the sort of detail I needed!

One question -

Will the "luggage assistance" people be outside when we arrive in the towncar, or do I have to take the bags somewhere inside to leave them?

Depending on how busy it is, there should always be someone available at the Porte Cochere.
